Hello!

AGENTS OF SHIELD IS BACK TOMORROW!!!!!

♠♠♠♠♠

"Fitz keeps the candy under his bunk."

I jump and slam the cabinet shut.

Oh god... WARD.

I turn around and give him a fake smile.

"What are you up to?" He asks suspiciously.

Why is he suspicios?

My heart pounds.

Does he know, that I know about him being a freaking traitor?

"Just looking for the sat-phone to call the team, make sure everyone's all right, no one's blown up." I say with ease, cuz' it's the DAMN TRUTH.

"I've got the phone." Ward tells me.

I give him a 'Oh ok, didn't know that' look while deep down I've killed him 5 times.

"I just talked to Coulson a little while ago."

"You did?" I ask quietly, forcing disappointment in my voice.

OF COURSE YOU DIDN'T YOU SON OF A BITCH.

"Yeah, sorry. Should have told you." Ward mumbles mildly. "They're okay, but the sooner we get to the location, decrypt that drive..."

"The sooner we can rendezvous with the team." I finish, between gritted teeth, not that Ward noticed.

"Exactly."  Ward pauses. "You could have picked anywhere in the world. Why a random diner in L.A?"

"It was already built into my encryption. Never changed it. But it's fitting." I say, 'recalling' when I 'installed' it. "It's where I met Mike Peterson. It's where this whole Shield roller coaster started. Plus, tactically, what do you look for in a jobsite?"

"Public place, lots of people, multiple exits." Ward says ticking them off on his finger.

"Figured if I ever got in trouble, I'd be safe there."

Ward gave me a sympathetic look and goes in for a hug.

I have to smile at his friendliness, even know I know it's a all a pathetic shit act.

"Oh, you'll be plenty safe." Ward tells me with a chuckle.

I gasp as he reaches back and his fingers brush against my bare skin as he grabs the gun I had strapped to my lower back earlier.

"This, however, is not the answer." He tells me sternly, pulling away from me.

I scowl at him, because HE'S A FREAKING TRAITOR, and also cuz' this is the time I'm supposed to scowl.

"What's the matter? A girl can't defend herself?" I question. "That's really sexist, Ward. I thought you were into kick-ass girls who could defend themselves like May-

"In this situation," He says cutting me off sternly, blushing just a tad. "The last thing we can afford is to get pinched on a concealed-weapons charge."

I sigh.

"I promise, until this thing is over, I'm not gonna let you out of my sight." Ward tells me with a small smile. "You're safe. I know you're really tense now. Especially because... Of Miles. But you're safe ok? I'll make sure of it."

I nod and turn around, glaring at the counter.

THAT IS EXACTLY WHAT I DON'T WANT, SHIT HEAD.
