Also Coulson is distraught.
AND Fitz is confused.
And May seems annoyed...
And Ward is in the interrogation cell...
And Simmons is AT headquarters, for debriefing.
And I've never been better.
I'M NOT THE ONE who is the one getting everyone upset, so I'm relatively content.
"Skye?" I hear from outside my room.
I reach over and slide the door open, revealing a blank faced Coulson.
"What can I do for you?" I ask, already knowing what he wants.
"Go check up on Ward. Make sure he's fine, ask him why!" Coulson rambles.
I roll my eyes.
"Jeez. Ok. Since you asked SO NICELY."
He hands me a water bottle, which I start to open.
"NO!" He snaps.
I squint at him.
"That's your excuse to go see Ward. To give him water."
I sigh and slide on my favorite pair of worn combat boots and slip past Coulson.
"Ok. I'm gonna do this for YOU, Coulson." ♦♠♠♠♠
I open the door to the room where Ward is being held.
He glances up at me, with an expression that reminds me of a pitiful dog, but it quickly changes into surprise.
He raises an eyebrow at me.
"Thought you were Coulson."
I hand him the water bottle.
"Thanks." I say with sarcasm. I watch as he twists the cap off the already opened bottle, and takes a sip. He avoids my gaze, which frustrates me.
"Why'd you do it?" I demand, not only on behalf of Coulson, but because I'm honestly wondering.
"I lost it. I got angry." Ward mumbles looking down. "He pushed all the right buttons."
"Coulson said the mission was to capture, not to kill." I point out lamely, not sure if I should be defending Coulson or Ward.
Ward sighs and runs a hand through his hair and looks up at me.
"Think about what the Clairvoyant said, what he's done. Think about the Centipede program, how he experimented on innocent people like Mike Peterson, how he kidnapped and tortured Coulson, how he ordered Quinn to shoot you." I bite my lip. "And he wasn't gonna stop, Skye. Not until you..."
