I don't have that much time... So I decide to just get the 'interrogation' over with.
"Who did you leak those files to?" I ask.
"Why?" He asks.
"And why did you hack Shield?" I ask.
Miles stares at me for a few seconds before shaking his head.
"Because that's what I do." He replies. "That's what we do."
"You dumbass!" I sniff. "Not when I'm on the inside!"
He looks at me with a goofy look.
"Did you just call me a dumbass?" Miles chuckles. "Cuz I taught you everything I know... So what does that make you?"
"Look I don't have much time! I can help you escape but only if you tell me what the hell you did!" I demand. He taught me everything I knew. Correct. I felt like I owed him. It felt like my responsibility to pay back the huge favour he did for me.
A cool breeze rushes over me.
The door... it's open.
May steps in looking pissed.
Oh my God... oh my God. Oh my God. I'm screwed.

The team arrived pretty quickly.
"Skye!" Exclaims Simmons. "Glad you found our culprit here!"
Coulson whispers something in her ear and she gasps.
"Oh. Oh!" Simmons says blushing.
I sigh and close my eyes. May is questioning Miles, so I'm stuck out here on Miles' really old couch.
Coulson keeps on glancing at me.
I glare at him and he sighs.
"Sir." Simmons calls. "This isn't proof of anything..." She trails off and looks at me. "But he appears to have been searching for Skye for quite some time..."
Coulson gives me a sharp look. "Is he a stalker? Has he threatened you? Blackmail?"
I shake my head.
"No!"
I close my eyes and muster all the dignity I can.
Coulson remains quiet, obviously waiting for me to finish.
Just tell him. You already revealed the truth about your past to him.
As I had promised, for letting me go on the mission, I had given very simple but true answers about myself. I gave a fake birthday, as I didn't actually know. But I had clarified that it was the correct month for sure. I had spoke quickly and calmly about how I made up the part regarding having an aunt and an uncle, and that I grew up in the foster system.
He was not thrilled that I stated I was under 18. That I was 16. But he said that since we didn't have real proof since my record is wiped clean, that it should not be an issue until they are able to produce actual legal emancipation independent living documents for me.
"I learned how to hack from him." I state quietly. "I just... I owe him everything and I wanted to tip him off to let him escape. That's all. I'm sorry."
