"Thank you for letting me stay with you, Kenya-senpai." Chinami thanked Kenya again and again during their walk to his home.
"It's no problem at all! Can't have you living with Osamu-chan when his home is uh...not child-friendly!"
"Wouldn't I be in your family's way?" Chinami asked him.
"Nope. My parents are going away for a whole month on some doctor and nurse related business trip, and my little brother is away on an exchange student program." Kenya explained to her. "I talk to them about you all the time, you know? They have never seen you before, but somehow they trust you enough to stay with me."
"I see. I finally know why your parents allowed me to stay. I understand, I'll keep an eye on you for them." His parents must have wanted to find someone to keep an eye on the Speed Star; always hearing stories about Chinami from Kenya, his parents decided she's the best person to keep an eye on him and take care of the house while they're gone.
"W-what's that supposed to mean?!" Poor Kenya doesn't seem to be aware of his parents' intentions!
"Hehe."
"You're not cute..."
"Ah, my stuff..."
"Chinami." Kenya suddenly held her hand, preventing her from looking back.
"Kenya-senpai..." She can see the sadness in his eyes; he really doesn't want her to think about her old home. He wanted her to move on from it and never ever think about it again. She can only nod her head, following him without telling him to let go of her hand...
When they got to his place, Chinami for some reason felt a little shy. There's no explanation for it whatsoever but Kenya wasn't going to tease her about it because her nervous face was cute.
"Um...s-sorry to intrude." Chinami said as she stepped into Kenya's home, looking a little timid since she's shy about going to people's home.
"You shouldn't say that for now. For now, I want to hear a 'I'm back' or 'Welcome back' from you."
"O-okay." She followed him to the living room, where he offered to get her something to drink. She walked around the living room and the first thing she noticed was Kenya's family picture. She smiled at the sight of a younger Kenya with his family. "How cute..." She found the picture to be very adorable. She's a little envious of Kenya for having a family who loved him...
"Chinami, I'm going to go and buy some groceries. I'll be back real quick, okay?" He was a little embarrassed that the fridge was empty! He should stock up now that there's someone living with him.
"You sure you won't need help carrying bags?"
"No need! I will be very fast so you should stay. Besides, you should be resting more! You're still injured."
"But-"
"It's fine! Naniwa's Speed Star will show you the quickest grocery shopping!"
Chinami wondered how fast he can be. "How about coming back in 10 minutes?"
"What?! That's long! Give me 5 minutes or something!"
"Tick tock, tick tock..."
"Uwah?! You're timing me already?!" Kenya grabbed his jacket and wallet, hurrying out of the door.
"There he goes..." Chinami smiled and decided to listen to him about resting more. She decided to have a little explore of his place. It was fine, right? She will be helping him do the chores so it made sense for her to know the rooms.
