"Wow..." Chinami watched the National's stadium open its roof and let the sun shine upon them all. She doesn't know why but she can feel a sense of pride standing within this stadium with the Shitenhouji members.
--We will now start the National semi-finals with the match between Tokyo representative, Seishun academy and Osaka representative, Shitenhouji--
"Remember! If we win this, I will treat everyone to nagashi soumen!" Osamu was attempting to inspire the boys to win but they were speechless upon hearing the very cheap reward. What kind of a reward was that? It sounded like a punishment more than a reward because they will be the ones to set the whole thing up.
Seeing that the boys didn't look inspired one bit, Osamu decided to use the emergency weapon: his daughter.
"Chinami-chan, say something!"
"Eh? Me? Uh...I know! Whoever wins gets a hug!"
"Woah?! Are you for real?! Zaizen, we have to win!" Kenya was overly happy to hear that from Chinami's own lips.
"Agreed." Zaizen wasn't about to tease his senpai if a hug from Chinami was the reward.
"Haha...but whoever loses will be paper fanned~." Her innocent smile was accompanied by the appearance of her deadly weapon.
"It appeared!" They should have known she would have prepared the paper fan for such an occasion!
"No! No! I don't want Nee-chan to hit me with the paper fan!" Kintarou was making a ruckus because he really didn't want to be paper fanned.
"Buchou, good luck!"
"Please don't tell me that with such a cute smile and deadly weapon..." Shiraishi tried to smile at her but it was hard to when she's holding the paper fan with intent to hit the loser with it.
Shiraishi was up first for Singles 3 against Fuji Shuusuke.
"Kenya-senpai, I heard Seigaku's Fuji is really skilled. Will Buchou be okay?"
"This is a match between the Tensai from Kantou and Bible from Osaka...I wonder who will come out victorious. What do you think, Chinami?"
"I think Buchou will win." She has seen Shiraishi play with his style of tennis, a style in which he will get the maximum results while exerting minimal efforts. Sure, it's not the coolest way of playing tennis but it still landed him with the win!
"It's cute seeing you believe in all of us." Kenya patted her on the head, thinking just how cute she was.
The game started off in Shiraishi's favor, he was able to overwhelm Fuji with his Bible Tennis. Shiraishi has not only destroyed Fuji's disappearing serve but he has also proved to be powerful enough to knock off Fuji's racquet when he tried to perform Higuma Otoshi to return the powerful smash.
"Feels great, eh, Fuji?" Shiraishi hit the ball with the top frame of his racquet, putting a side spin to it. The hit caused the ball to fly in a ring formation until it hits the court without bouncing.
"Yay!" She cheered when he took the 3rd game.
Shiraishi saw Chinami's reaction to him taking the 3rd game and he smiled at her after saying his signature phrase.
"You still have something up your sleeve, don't you, Fuji-kun? Don't hold back. Bring all your Triple Counters out." Shiraishi openly challenged Fuji, something no one would ever do unless they have a wish to lose in style, but Shiraishi was certain he can win.
"If that is what you wish." Fuji's blue eyes revealed the challenge within them; he's not going to lose here either.
"Bring out whatever you want. I won't lose here because I don't want to be paper fanned." Fuji and the Seigaku members did not understand Shiraishi's words...what was that about being paper fanned?
