Steve's POV

"What about Olivia?" I asked and Natasha just stared at me.
"Fine. Maria?" I said.
"I'm not naming my child after agent Hill." Natasha said. "Not that she isn't great but no."
I thought for a while before I got an idea. I looked at Natasha's thinking eyes and then down to our baby girl in her arms. I smiled.
"What about Emma Rain Romanoff?"
I asked and Natasha looked at me with huge eyes.
"Emma?" She whispered as I smiled a little. I thought back to the time at the little cabin in the woods, when we ate pancakes and she told me about her only childhood friend. A girl who also was in the red room with her. She clearly had meant a lot to Natasha so I though why not.
"I like it." Natasha said and I gave her a quick kiss on the lips. "But, it should be Rogers. I don't want our child to be burden with my name."
"Stop it." I said but she gave me a stare.
"Emma Rain Rogers it is." She said giving me a smile.
A nurse came inside the room.
"You can go home now if you'd like. All the paper work is done." She said and smiled.
"Thank you." I said and smiled back at her.
After a few nights spent at the hospital, we finally got to go home. There was only one issue, home was the avengers base. We hadn't thought about getting a place for our own. Honestly, I don't have the courage to ask Natasha but this will work for a while.
Natasha was still holding Emma when we stepped inside the doors. We were greeted by all the avengers, including Pepper who was thrilled to have us.
"Oh my gosh. She's so beautiful. Can I hold her?" Pepper asked Natasha.
Nat smiled and handed Emma over but didn't keep her eyes of her until we sat down in the sofas.
"Little Natasha." Tony mumbled. "How great." I smirked.
"Have you come up with a name yet?" Clint asked curiously.
"She's not named Laura." Natasha chuckled.
"Her names Emma." I said and everyone smiled.
"It suits her." Pepper said smiling down at the little one in her arms.
"Lady Emma, son of Steve, daughter of Natasha." Thor said and Natasha smirked.
"Just call her Emma." She said and Thor nodded in agreement.
"She's not crying much is she?" Pepper said as she handed over Emma to me. I looked down at her face and saw Natasha.
"She don't. I've only heard her cry once. It worries me." Natasha said.
"Yes it's not very normal. Usually, your kid would be crying non stop." Bruce said with a confused look on his face. He was there as well, but he tried to keep his distant.
"I think it's fine." I said. "She's got my calmness." Everyone laughed.
"No offence.." Clint said. "But the mix of your calmness and Natasha's well, you know, temper, she would still be crying more than a normal baby."
Natasha made a grumpy face and threw a pillow at Clint.

Natasha's POV

After another hour of catching up and letting everyone hold Emma (except for Tony who said it was because he didn't want to but I'm convinced he was scared to drop her or something) Steve and I got to Steve's apartment. I held Emma in my arms and I couldn't shake this feeling that something was wrong. Her little face told me that something was up. I could feel it in my stomach. While inside, I sat down at Steve's couch and he made us some food while I was breastfeeding Emma. She never screams. Not even when she's hungry. If she doesn't start screaming soon, I'll go back to the hospital. But I'm sure they wouldn't know a thing more than I do. I couldn't press these things out of my brain. The flicker of lights when I gave birth. How my little girl was screaming and then went quiet. What happened? My body was shaking with anxiety as Steve took the baby out of my hands.
"Nat, are you okey?" He asked as he sat down beside me.
"Somethings wrong. You heard Bruce. She's supposed to cry." I said desperately. He looked down at her and stroke her head gently.
I was expecting some kind of pep talk but instead he looked me into the eyes.
"What shall we do?" He asked and I didn't know what to answer.
"I don't know." I said helplessly and rested my head on his shoulder.
"I know this feels helpless, but I have a good feeling about this. I think it will work out. She basically came back from the death, and I believe she had a reason to do that." He said and I felt the stone in my belly.
"That's what scares me." I said.

The night came along and Steve put Emma to sleep. He tucked her in and bent down to kiss her forehead. She was already asleep, she has a tendency of falling asleep easier in Steve's arms. I can't really blame her, he's safe.
I was sitting in the bed, watching him put her down in the crib. I was too afraid to keep her further away. I wanted to be able to have my eyes on her. Steve took of his t-shirt and I took my eyes of Emma for a second too watch Steve. But as soon as he had gotten into bed, my eyes fell at the crib.
Steve wrapped his arms around me but I couldn't really embrace him. I was scared to fall asleep.
"Nat, she's okey. You have to sleep. She's okey." He said and I laid down next to him and tired to relax until I fell asleep.

My eyes flashed open as I heard the little baby scream. My entire body felt relieved and I were about to wake Steve up before I realised he was already awake. He had picked up Emma from the crib and we're trying to comfort her. He looked at me and smiled.
"Don't you see? She's okey. I told you." He said while trying to comfort her. My relieved feeling was not there for long. The same feeling I've felt earlier came back. Something was really wrong. Why is she crying now? Why now? I thought to myself.
I suddenly held Emma in my arms. She was older. Old enough to walk at least. I put her down on the floor and smiled at her. Her big green eyes looked into mine with the shared colour.
"This." I said showing her the thing in my hand. "This is a gun. If you press here, someone will die." I showed her how it works as I shot one of the victims. One of my victims from the red room. I smiled down at my daughter as blood appeared on the walls surrounding us. She smiled back at me.
I sat down on a chair and she climbed up onto my lap.
"In a few years, mommy will send you away. It will be for you good. You'll be trained, to become like mommy." I whispered in her ear as she nodded. She listened to every word. "Don't tell daddy. If you do, he'll try to keep you here, and we don't want that do we?" I whispered and she shock her head. I smiled even brighter.
"Good girl. Now pick up that gun. You know what to do." I said. She did as she was told and pointed the gun at the other victim. Not of the red room. But the victim of me. His hands were tied and his eyes was begging me to let him go.
"Nat please. You're better then this. Think of Laura and the kids." Clint said as a few tears fell down his cheeks. "Think of Emma." He said.
"Bye bye uncle Clint." Emma said as the trigger went of.

I sat straight up in the bed. My own scream woke me up. Not only me but Steve and Emma as well. I turned my head to Steve who looked at me worried. I was scared but I couldn't afford to me that anymore. I swallowed hard.
"She's not screaming." I said and walked with shaking legs over to her crib. I picked her up and turned to Steve. "Please go back to bed. I'm fine." I said as I walked out the room. Steve didn't believe me, which I understood. But he was smart enough to leave me alone. He knew I needed alone time to think. As fast as I sat down in the sofa, Emma started screaming. I looked down at her confused. I made sure I was awake. She didn't stop. She screamed until her face got red and tears were running down her cheeks. Steve came rushing out the room. I stood up and looked at him scared.
"Somethings wrong." He said and I nodded. I heard a knock on the door and gave Emma to Steve. My hands were shaking with fear and I went slowly to the door. Steve stood a few meters behind me. The knocks became harder as I took longer time to open. I looked back at Steve and Emma before I locked up the door and pressed down the handle.
"Have you missed me honey?" A dark cold voice said. The man wore black clothes and a hoodie. I couldn't see his face but I could recognise that voice anywhere. "Heard you got a daughter to replace your visit with us."
"Ivan." I said and he took down the hoodie and reviled his face.
He was here. The man who destroyed my life. I left him, I ran. And now, he wants revenge. I expected him to come for me but the rules had changed. He doesn't want me anymore.
Now, he wants my daughter.
