Natasha's POV

The days had been passing by. Steve and I had assembled the avengers, trying to get them to help us with this situation. Nick Fury needed to be stopped. Even if I still believed this wasn't really him, we still had to do something. I called Barton while I was waiting for Steve to get home. He sent grocery shopping. I had a sick feeling in my stomach and just didn't have the energy to come along.
"Hey Barton, you got our message right?" I asked Clint.
"Sure did Nat, of course I'll help, but do you think you and Captain can come over here for just two days or so? I could really need some time alone with Laura before I come with you guys. You know how she's always complaining about me working." He said, laughing a little, but was still very serious.
"Yeah sure, when can you pick us up?"
"Well, I'll be there in 30 minutes." He answered.
I looked out of the window, seeing Steve park the car outside.
"Great." I said, and we hung up.

I went downstairs to greet Steve. He had two bags in his hands and dropped them on the floor just to hold my head while he gave me a kiss.
"Well.. I have some news." I said looking at him. "Barton is picking us up in 30 minutes. We're babysitting for two days. Isn't that great?" I said, teasingly smiling at him.
"So what you're telling me is that I went to the store to get some food, that will be laying in the refrigerator getting old as we fly to Barton's farm wherever that is and watch his three kids for two days?" He said, not changing his face expression a bit.
"Something like that." I said.
He smiled.
"That sounds great. Dibs on the little one." He said.
"Oh no, I was first. Remember?" I chuckled.
"Yes, yes I do. There's only one bad thing about these two days though." He said, putting his hand through his hair.
"What?" I said smiling.
"I can't be able to do this." He said, moving closer to me. He grabbed me and put me to the wall and I wrapped my legs around his waist. He kissed me deep and my hands went through his hair and then down to his cheeks. I looked at his face smiling.
"I'm sure we could squeeze that into our schedule somewhere without anyone noticing." I said raising an eyebrow. "I don't want to ruin the moment but if we don't start packing now, we will be in these clothes for like three days." I chuckled.
"Yeah." He said, putting me down. He smiled while kissing me on last time before he went to get the stuff he needed.

"You're late." I said, greeting Barton with a friendly hug. Steve walked right after me, greeting Barton with a friendly clap on his back.
"A queen is never late. Everyone else is simply early." He said as Steve and I laughed at his joke from a freaking child movie.
The ride to Barton's farm went faster then usual. Probably because of the good company. All three of us had some catching up to do.
As soon as we got there, I was greeted by some exited eyes at the front porch. Lila came running towards me, I lifted her up in a tight hug.
"Aunti Nat!" She said smiling at me.
"Hey sweetheart, how's my favourite girl doing?" I said while giving her the biggest smile I had.
"I'm good, look at Cooper! He learned to kick the football behind his back yesterday!" She smiled enthusiastically.
"Wow really? I know he's been practicing on that trick. He'll have to show me later." I said, putting her down. I looked over to Steve. He just stood there smiling at me. I smiled back and rolled my eyes.
"It's nice to meet you again Captain America." Cooper said stretching out his hand, waiting for Steve to shake it.
"It's nice to see you too little buddy." Steve said as he lifted Cooper up, shaking him upside down. Cooper cried with laughter.
"Natasha! Mr. Rogers! Thank you so much for coming!" Laura said, coming out of the house. She was carrying Nathaniel at her right arm.

Steve's POV

"We'll be back home tomorrow. Anything you need is, well somewhere." Clint said.
"We'll be fine." I said, looking at the kids saying their goodbyes to their parents. Natasha was still holding Nathaniel and took his hand to help him wave goodbye to Clint and Laura. She looked at me with an adorable smile as the doors closed.
The night went perfect and we had a lot of fun with the children. We watched a movie, (the incredibles), which I really enjoyed. Soon, it was time to get the children to sleep. Cooper had fallen a sleep in the couch 20 minutes ago and Nathaniel had fallen asleep in Natasha's arms. Lila was the only one still awake and I watched from the door to Lila's room as Nat was putting her to sleep.
"Auntie Nat?" She asked.
"Yes?" Natasha said smiling. She was sitting in Lila's bed, putting the blanked around her tiny body.
"Can you sing to me?"
"What do you want me to sing?" Nat answered.
"You know the song you always sang to me when I was little. The one about the moon." She smiled.
"Yes I remember, you liked that one huh? It was actually my mother who taught me that song." Natasha said right before she started singing.

"I'm lying on the moon
My dear, I'll be there soon
It's a quiet starry place
Time's we're swallowed up
In space we're here a million miles away

There's things I wish I knew
There's no thing I keep from you
It's a dark and shiny place
But with you my dear
I'm safe and we're a million miles away

We're lying on the moon
It's a perfect afternoon
Your shadow follows me all day
Making sure that I'm okay and
We're a million miles away"

As the song came to it's end, Lila was dozing of into sleep. I smiled as Nat kissed her forehead and turned of the lights. She turned realising I stood there.
"How did you do that?" She said as we had walked out of the room.
"Do what?" I asked.
"Sneak up on me." She said smiling.
"You were busy." I said taking her hand. We went back to the couch, sitting down. Natasha leaned her had against my shoulder while holding my hand. Her fingertips stroke the outside of my hand and I could feel her even breaths through my body. I felt the need to ask her about the song.
"Did your mother teach you that song?" I said carefully as Natasha took a deep breath.
"No. I don't know what else to tell her. I didn't even know my mother." Natasha said. Her head still resting on my shoulder, she wasn't moving at all expect from her chest going up and down as she breathed.
"Then who did?"
"I did. When I was younger, when I was in the red room, I made up things so that I could take my mind of that place. So I made up a song that I sang to myself every night, imagining that it was someone I loved that sang it to me." She laughed a sad laugh. "Not that I knew what love felt like." She continued. A pain bubbled in my chest. I couldn't believe how something as innocent as a child could have been put through so much torture. Natasha have down awful things but when I look at her now, all I see is this broken little girl, singing herself to sleep every night. Hoping that someone in the world would someday love her.
"I love you. And I would love to sing to you but you see, if I did, my bad voice would probably ruin the song." I said. Natasha chuckled and put her hands around my arm, her head still resting at my shoulder.
We fell asleep on the couch, too tired to move to the guest room that Laura had been fixing for us. The moon was big and bright and moonlight slipped in through the window. It touched Natasha's pure skin. I kissed her head before I fell asleep again, feeling the weight of her body making me warm.
