Steve's POV
Natasha had gotten her way as usual and wasn't as needy anymore if I put it that way. She was standing by the window, looking out over the city view. She was wearing one of my t-shirts which I loved since they always smelled like her whenever I put them on. Her bare legs were shown and her small feet touched the cold floor. Her hair was as usual, hanging down her back. I stood there for a moment, amazed of her beauty. She turned around and that's when you first could tell she was pregnant. The baby bump grows incredible fast. It could happen any day know. At least, that's what it looks like. I smiled at her and she raised her eyebrows back at me.
"What?"
"You're beautiful." I said, still with a smile on my face.
She walked over to me and gave me a quick kiss on the lips before she went to the bedroom to change."So what exactly should we do?" Tony asked as all of the avengers were sitting by the table. Even Bruce. My despise towards him was obvious and I didn't need to hide it. I was sitting next to Natasha. She held my hand as we discussed the matter with Alexander Pierce.
"Send out agents. Find him." Natasha said, looking at everyone for response.
"I agree, we need to do something. We can't just sit here." I said and everyone nodded.
"Will do then." Tony said.
"And please, don't forget Fury's funeral this afternoon. It will be a small ceremony but I'm sure he would have wanted us all there." Pepper said and looked down painfully.
I felt Natasha's grip on my hand get tighter as Fury was mentioned. I looked at her face. It showed no emotions, no fear, no pain. But her hand in mine told me everything. As well as her eyes, if you knew how to read them. I pressed her hand a little tighter so that she would know I was there. She looked at me thankfully and put her other hand on her belly.
"I believe we all will be there." I said and everyone nod. Even Natasha.Natasha's POV
Funerals. It's funny how many people you've watched die or killed and how few funerals I've attended. I can count them on one of my hands. I do not despise them. I've never been to someone I loved's funeral. It's all been for missions or such. All the people I've loved who died haven't had a funereal. Mostly because they died in such extreme causes or because they disappeared. Steve on the other hand..
I looked over at him. He had an anxious look on his face as he looked around the graveyard and I took his hand. He was familiar with funerals. Too familiar. His father, his mother, Peggy, lots of his friends from the war and even Bucky. They didn't bury Bucky though since they never found his body. But there was still a funereal. To honour him.
"Can we do this really quick cause I feel like some pancakes would be good at this moment." I whispered jokingly in his ear and he smiled.
Bruce approached us and the smile faded as quickly as it had come.
"Hey guys, I'm really sorry about Nick. I knew he meant a lot to both of you." Bruce said.
"To honour Nick, I will not strangle you right now but we'll talk later." Steve said coldly close to Bruce's face as we started walk towards the church.
Clint sat next to me and Steve in the church. We talked for a bit before Maria stood up and walked to the front of the church. She cleared her throat.
"We all knew Nick in some way, which means we all know he probably wouldn't enjoy a cheesy funereal with lots of love and tears. And that's why we'll give him one." Maria said. And everyone laughed a little.
"Is there someone who want to say something?" Maria asked.
Without thinking I stood up. Everyone looked at me surprised. Especially Steve. But I was the one who was the most surprised. Why did I stand up? I didn't have another choice but to slowly walk forward to Maria. It took a while with my huge belly and I could feel everyone staring.
When I stood in front of everyone, I took a deep breath.
"Yeah I didn't plan this.. But I guess I had to say something." I began. "I believed in Nick Fury. I believed he was a good man. He fought for what was right and helped me figure out that too. With a little help from Clint of course." I added. Clint looked at me smirking.
"I'm not going to make a fancy speech like Steve would do..." He looked at me with a 'really?' face and I smiled a little.
"I just wanted to say that Fury didn't deserve this and I'm pretty much going to kill the person responsible so it better not be anyone of you." I finished and everyone looked at each other, relived that I hadn't turned into Steve.
I went back to Steve and sat down.
"That went well." I said and Clint just laughed.
"First funereal you didn't kill anyone." Clint joked.
"Oh it's not over yet dear." I answered and Steve shook his head. I put my head on his shoulder and held his hand through out the funereal. Trying to forget why I was there. I pretended I was home. With Steve right there beside me, watching some bad show on the Tv. No death, no pain. Just love.Steve's POV
My hand fell hard on his face and my body bumbled with anger.
"You kissed my wife asshole." I said to Bruce angrily as he fell to he ground.
"Girlfriend, actually." He said in pain. He regretted what he had said before I had time to punch him again. "Sorry. I really am sorry Steve."
I looked at him with disbelief. My body bubbled with rage.
"Why?" I asked, not sure if I wanted to hear the answer.
"I love her. I'm sorry but I do." Bruce said in sorrow.
"You don't love me." Natasha said. She stood a meter behind me watching the scene. "That's bullshit. You don't even know me."
"I do." Bruce spoke again.
"You better leave. We don't want you here." Natasha said cold.
Bruce stood up, brushing of the dirt from his clothes. He went over to Natasha.
"I'll be around if you need me." Bruce said. His voice sounded hurt. Like a bird who couldn't sing.
"She won't." I said.
"I won't." She agreed.
Bruce took a deep breath and walked away. His hand was pressed on his face where he had got hit. I went to Natasha and put my arm around her waist.
"You look very hot when you're jealous." She said after a while.
"Oh don't." I said.
"Maybe we should try that out."
"No. We're not." I said and kissed her lips.
She suddenly pushed me away.
"What now?" I said smiling. I didn't react until I saw her wide open eyes.
"The baby. He's coming." She said, looking as scared as she could ever be.
"Wait.. She's coming? Now?" I said.
"Nnnow." Natasha said and held her hands over her belly. "Now."
