Natasha's POV

I was dressed in my ordinary black suit. Only this time, a little bigger. No one had noticed yet, thank god. Steve was standing on the other side of the table, catching up with Bruce. Thor was sitting beside me, discussing computers with Tony. Thor didn't get a thing, (as expected), which made Tony loose patients. Their wild discussion went on as Clint walked into the room, taking the seat to my right. He knew everything already. So do Laura, and the kids. I just couldn't keep it from them. They were thrilled to hear the news, but thankfully, Clint understood my fear and anxiety. He didn't push me into talking about baby stuff so one since he knew I wouldn't appreciate it. He gave me a friendly hug before sitting down next to me.
"You wanna know something great?" He said. I looked at him waiting for him to continue.
"No one here seem to notice if you gained weight, which means you can pretty much eat McDonald's everyday for two weeks and no one would see a difference." He chuckled. I punched him in the arm, laughing along with him. Steve looked over at me and smiled. I smiled back.
"Guys? Can we get started?" Steve said in a friendly tone as Bruce sat down at the table.
"I told you about the situation before you got here, and we need some help. Anyone got any ideas?" Steve continued.
"I do. Attack." Tony said smirking.
"Tony, no." Pepper said, walking through the door. She looked over at me and her tight mouth formed a huge smile. I smiled back in a friendly kind of way. She walked around the table.
"Congratulations on the baby." She whispered as quietly as possible in my ear before she took a seat between Tony and Thor. I looked at Steve, confused that she knew. He didn't seem to react. But it wouldn't be weird if Pepper understood everything by just looking at my stomach. She's one of the most clever women I've ever met.
"We are not going to attack just like that." Pepper said looking disappointing at Tony.
"No that would just be stupid." I said laughing when Tony gave me a grumpy face.
"We have no idea who's really behind this which means we have to do this a smart way." I continued.
"What do you mean by 'don't know who's behind this'? Isn't it quite obvious that it's Nick Fury?" Bruce asked while looking into my eyes.
I looked away, annoyed by his words.
"It would be obvious for those people who didn't know him." I said coldly.
"We can't be sure that this is Nick's doing." Steve started to explain. "What Natasha means is that this doesn't sound like Fury at all? I mean, come on, it's Nick. He's a good guy." Steve said.
"Well, at least he was." Bruce said. "No offence but why would Fury be a part of this if he didn't want to?"
I couldn't help it but laugh at his stupid question.
"As a person that have experienced just that, it's not like you have a choice. You know I didn't really choose to be turned into a mass murderer. Steve didn't choose to be stuck in ice for 70 years and Tony didn't choose to get turned into a robot even though he's kind of enjoying it. And I'm pretty sure you don't want to turn into a big green hulk. Sometimes we don't have a choice." I said coldly but not as harsh as before.
It went quiet for a few seconds.
"How can someone have forced Fury?" Thor said.
"Serums, gun to his head, brainwashed." Clint said, counting them on his fingers.
"So what should we do?" Thor said, while picking up another pop tart from a bag.
Steve looked at me.
"Confront him and everyone involved. Take some hostages and find out what's really going on and who's behind this." I said, and took a pop tart from Thor. He held them tight only offering me one. I shared one with Clint who didn't even get one for himself.
"That sounds good to me." Steve said.
"But we still need to think of Nick as an enemy. At least until we get him away from here." Pepper said.
"Yeah." I said, smiling at pepper. She mouthed the words 'baby' and 'news' to me. Damn I forgot. We should as well just get over with it.
"And there's some other things too." I said, taking a deep breath. "I'm pregnant. You know, so don't stab my stomach or something. Just a heads up." I said. Pepper smiled bright.
"What?! Your pregnant?" Tony said. "Who's the father?"
Everyone stopped and just looked at Tony.
"We didn't tell him did we? Did anyone tell him?" I said laughing. Everyone shook their heads laughing along. I stood up and everyone watched my belly for the first time. And actually noticed the difference. I walked around the table as Tony's eyes followed my every step. I stood still behind Bruce's chair just to mess with Tony.
"Wait, you and bru.." He didn't get to finish the sentence before I gave Steve a kiss and he took me in his arms.
Tony just stared at us, his mouth open.
"WHAT?" He said, more confused than ever.
"Steve and Nat? Captain America and the Black widow? What?!?!" He said.
"God Tony, I can't believe you didn't know. It's been obvious for more than a year."
Pepper said.
"We've only been together for a few months?" I said looking over at Pepper who just gave me a smile as an answer.
"Well, congratulations to you both!" Banner said as he shook hands with Steve.
"Yeah but I got some other stuff to say." I said as they all went quiet again. "Just some rules. Number 1, the only ones allowed to touch my belly at anytime, without asking, is well Steve and Pepper."
"Why not me?" Thor said.
"I'm sorry but you know, can't risk the chance of the baby getting superpowers from a different planet. I don't want him to turn blue."
"Her." Steve mumbled as Thor mumbled "That was just Loki."
"Oh right that's the second rule. Everyone who believe it's a girl is on Steve's side and everyone who think it's a baby boy is on my side." I said smiling. "Losers owe the other ones 100 dollars so choose wisely."
"I'm on team Nat." Clint said giving Steve a sorry look.
"Me too, as much as it pains me." Tony said.
"I'm on Steve's." Pepper said smirking.
"What no, Pepper? Damn now we're going to lose." I said.
"Why's that?" Thor said.
"Ask Tony. Pepper's always right." I said smiling.
"I'll still choose your side lady Natasha." Thor said.
"I'll take Steve's side." Bruce laughed. "I can really imagine you two having a girl."
"Yeah, maybe so." Clint said. "Just imagine Steve teaching the little girl to ride a bike. And by little girl I mean Natasha." He laughed hysterically. I took up a notebook from the table and threw it at him.
"Shut up you idiot!" I said.
"What? But you can ride a motorcycle." Steve said.
"It's not the same, it's easier with a motorcycle."
Tony laughed.
"Black widow can't ride a bike?!"
"Maybe not but I can ride a lot of other things pretty damn good. So good I got pregnant even though I was sterile."
This made Tony shut up as I laughed hysterically.
"Maybe we should try that again sometime?" I said smirking at Steve.
"Yeah, that sounds great." He said smiling to the uncomfortable Tony. "See you all here tomorrow, 10am." He continued as I dragged him out of the room, kissing him just to make Tony as uncomfortable as possible. When we got out of there, Steve put his arm around my waist.
"That went well." He laughed and kissed my head. I looked up at him and got a kiss on the mouth.
"I just hope it goes as well tomorrow." I said, leaning against Steve as we walked out to our old rooms in the avengers building. We haven't been here for months, afraid to come back because of the threats to kill us. We went inside to my room. It's been months. I went inside and opened my wardrobe.
"Thank god. I was worried this would be gone!" I said as I picked out a dress from the wardrobe.
Steve laughed.
"A dress?"
"What no." I said smiling as I picked up the big gun inside of it.
"Yeah that makes more sense." Steve laughed. I went over to the kitchen to make us some tea.
"You wanna know something crazy? This is like the third time I've ever been in your apartment. We didn't hang out here at all." He said, giving me a soft smile.
"Yeah, I know. I enjoy keeping this to myself sometimes." I said, looking down at the cups I just took out of a cabinet.
"Just remember that you don't have to." He said.
I smiled at him.
"It's been a busy few months, huh?"
"Yeah, it's been a busy few months." I said smiling at him.
He got closer to me, putting his hands on my belly. I put my arms over his shoulders and put my forehead against his. I had to stand on my toes to reach up. We stood there for a while, both of our eyes closed. Breathing in each other and the future to come. All problems disappeared from my head. All of my fears faded. I knew I was willing to give up everything for Steve and this baby. We stood there, until the rain fell at window sills leaving a pattering sound. We both smiled.
