Luke and I turned to face each other, before simultaneously getting off the floor and walking towards the door, Michelle in tow. Mina turned as we reached her and walked out of the Training Room. She moved swiftly, though not running as she navigated the three of us through doors and down corridors.

My mind ran through everything that could be happening to Alice and I got more freaked out with every thought. I saw Luke look at me from the corner of his eye, and he saw the worry burning in mine. He sent me a quick reassuring smile, silently telling me it was going to be okay. Suddenly Mina came to a stop outside of a huge double door. Slowly she walked forward and pushed open the door, peering inside before walking in. The three of us exchanged glances before deciding to follow her. Slowly we walked forward, Michelle taking the lead. She slowly pushed open the door and peered inside.

She turned her head and nodded to Luke and me before walking in. Luke and I looked at each other for a moment before walking forward together. Luke pushed open the door and I walked in before him. The room was pitch black, the only source of light coming from ahead where Mina and Michelle’s silhouette were cut out. I swallowed thickly before walking towards them, Luke a step behind me.

Mina and Michelle were standing over a huge circular pit that was cut into the ground. The light emanating from it was a rainbow of hues, shining upwards to cast light upon those who stood on the edge. I reached the pit and stood next to Mina, looking down.

The light had formed a sort of substance that was halfway between liquid and gas. The colours swirled around the edges in a spiral to create a circle of white in the centre. I stared into the pit, following the streaks of colour around and around. My vision started to get fuzzy as I watched. Then I heard the voices.

“Who are you?” asked Alice.

I gasped at the sound of my aunt’s voice coming out of nowhere.

“Look into the white Ella.” Luke said quietly, and I did. Slowly the picture formed until it was as clear as if it was right in front of us. I let out a breath of surprise staring at the two figures in front of us.

Alice stood in the sitting room staring at the front door, as if she was waiting for something. Her arms were crossed protectively over her chest, and she stood to attention. Slowly the door of the house opened by itself, and Alice stood up straighter. Tendrils of black smoke curled over the frame, before a black stiletto clad foot stepped onto the threshold. It was followed by another, and then Ciara walked in, dressed in a Grecian gown that draped over one shoulder and flowed down to the floor. Her dark hair was down, falling to her waist. She walked into the sitting room, her trademark smirk plastered on her face.

“Who are you?” asked Alice.

“You know very well who I am.” Ciara drawled.

“This is my home. Anyone who enters introduces themselves and states their intentions.” Alice said coldly.

“Very well Miss James. I am Ciara, Priestess of the Demonate. I am here to speak with you about your niece, Ella.” Ciara said.

“What does Ella have to do with you and your people?” Alice asked heatedly.

“Please don’t make me insult your intelligence Miss James.”

“That’s impossible, Ella can’t be…” Alice started.

“One of us? Did you honestly not see the signs? You raised the child; I thought you would have seen her for what she was years ago. Especially considering her parents.”
