Meghan's POV•

I woke up to the sound of my alarm clock. Sitting up, I drowsily reached over to my clock and clicked snooze. Dragging myself out of bed, I began to head over to my closet until I saw I got a text message... from Matthew! I read it aloud, each time even more excited.

Matthew- Morning Meg ;) Can't wait to run into you at school!

I didn't even have to look in the mirror to know just how much I was blushing. I wanted to scream of excitement but I didn't want to wake my mom. Now that I think about it, I normally wake up to the smell of bacon and eggs.

After quickly responding to Matthew's text, I slipped off my pajama pants and exchanged them for a pair of dark blue skinny jeans. I put on a white and black Aeropostale sweater I got when I went shopping at the mall a few weeks ago. Unlike most of my friends, I keep my shoes in my closet. Kneeling down on my knees, I take a quick look down my line of shoes. My peach and white ankle converse shoes catch my eye so I untie the shoelaces and put them on.

I go into my bathroom to wash up, then apply a light coat of eye liner and mascara. Going back to my nightstand, I grab my phone and walk downstairs to the kitchen.

When I get there the kitchen is empty. My mom's nowhere in sight. I see a sticky note hanging on the refrigerator so I walk over to it and read it aloud.

'Dear Meghan,

Sorry about not making breakfast this morning. Had to go to work early. Make yourself a bowl of cereal and don't be late for school. I love you!

Love, Mom'

Great. Cereal. A perfect way to start the day. I open the cabinet and grab the box of captain crunch, pouring it into a clear glass bowl and filling it to the top with milk. Half way through eating, I realize it's 7:30! School started in 30 minutes and I had to ride my bike to school. But to make manners worse, it was freaking raining outside. I guess having cereal for breakfast wasn't the worst part of my morning after all. I gulp down the rest of my cereal and practically throw the bowl into the sink.

I grab my backpack off the couch in the front room and rush out to the garage as fast as possible. Pedaling with all of my strength, I manage to get out of the house by 7:35. '25 more minutes till school starts. You can do this Meg.' I told myself. It always helps when I give myself a little boost of encouragement.

* * * * *

When I arrive at school, I'm soaking wet from the rain. It's 7:50 and I have 10 minutes to get to Biology Class with Mr. Ruins. I run down the hallway to my locker, put my backpack in it, and grab my books. I still have 6 minutes. I fast walk down the hallway and make a sharp turn, crashing right into Matthew. How embarrassing!

With him being all muscular, I end up crashing on the ground with my books scattered everywhere while he, well, stands there trying to make this whole thing playful instead of embarrassing.

He reaches down to grab my hand and pulls me up on my feet. I feel as light as a butterfly. We both bend down to pick up my books off of the floor. When finished, he returns them to my arms with the rest. His light sparkly blue eyes stare at me as a smile creeps onto his face.

"You ok? Are you hurt?" Matthew asks sounding like he cared a lot about me. That made me feel soooo special!

"Yeah, I'm fine. Thanks for helping me with my books." I reply, trying not to blush nor stare creepily.

"Ok, cool. So you and your friends are still up for the movies friday, right?" He asked worriedly.

"Yep! They said it was ok for us to go."

I looked at my phone and realized I had taken so much time flirting with Mr-hotty-Espinosa that I only had three minutes to get to class!

"What's wrong?" He asked looking concerned. His face was always so fricken cute when he was worried, with his eyebrows slanting downwards.

"Geez, I'm really sorry Matthew but I gotta get going, like, right now. I can't be late for Mr. Ruins Biology Class. Bye!"

And with that I was running down the hallway like my life depended on it... Well it actually kinda did because everyone knows Mr. Ruins is NOT a man to forgive someone that's late. I felt terrible about leaving Matthew in the dust like that. I didn't even give him the chance to say bye! Well I guess it's too late now.

I check the time as I run to class. 30 seconds. I turn the corner to find that the door is... open! And even better. When I take a quick peak in the room, Mr. Ruins isn't there yet.

I take my seat next to Jadyn just as the bell rings. Mr. Ruins arrives 20 seconds later and says I'm sorry for being late lets get on with the lesson blah blah blah.

I sat there for the rest of the class thinking about my encounter with Matthew in the hallway and how great Friday night was going to turn out.
