Ch.11- Human Tetris

Bridgid's POV•

When I realized we couldn't get through the garage or doors, there was only one thing left to try - the window.

"We can climb through one of the windows." I told them with less confidence than expected.

"That's probably the stupidest thing I've ever heard Bridgid, so stupid that it just might work." Katie said smiling.

"Ok I'm sorry but there is no way in hell I'm climbing through a window. Never, ever, ever." Meghan told us crossing her arms stubbornly.

"Fine. Sleep in the yard tonight then." Katie told her laughing. Meghan's face began to turn red before agreeing to try my plan.

"Ok, Jadyn you stay on the ground. Meghan, you stand on top of Jadyn's shoulders. I'll stand on top of Meghan's shoulders and Katie will stand on top of mine." I explained to them.

We decided that we would go through Katie's window since the lock on it is broken. It's easier than trying to climb into a locked one.

"C'mon Meghan, get up here." Jadyn told her while bending down on her knees.

"Fine, but if you drop me, you're all dead meat." Meghan snapped before climbing on top of Jadyn's shoulders. Sometimes she could be really scary and right now is one of those time.

After Meghan and Jadyn successfully stacked on top of each other, it was my turn.

"Ok Meghan hold onto the bricks while Katie helps push me up." I told her. She cooperated and used both of her hands to keep a tight grip against the cool brick wall.

"On the count of 3 Bridgid I'll help lift you up." Katie told me. "1, 2, 3!"

She used all of the strength she had in her arms to hoist me up. It was just enough for me to climb up past Jadyn's shoulders and onto Meghan's.

We were only a couple of feet away from the window. 'Geez Katie! Why does your house have to be so tall?' I thought to myself as we used our hands to pull up Katie.

Just as Katie was climbing over my shoulders her phone began to ring. She carefully reached into her back pocket to grab her phone. She took her own sweet time reading the name.

"Ooh, it's Taylor!" She exclaimed as she answered her phone and put it on speakerphone.

"Hello?" She said in her most innocent seducing way.

"Hey Katie, I was just calling to make sure you girls got home safe? We were really worried about you guys leaving so late from our place." He told us honestly. He sounded tense like he was really worried.

"Yeah, yeah! We're totally fine." She lied. "Right guys?" She asked us.

"Yeah, whatever." We responded, straining to stand on top of each other much longer.

"Ok that's good. I'll let the guys know you're all alright. Anyways I also wanted to say goodnight so yeah... Goodnight!" Taylor shouted into the phone all cheery. We seriously didn't have the time to talk much longer. If my legs were already starting to hurt I could imagine just how bad it hurts for Jadyn on the ground.

"Goodnight." Katie said before ending the call. As soon as she did we began yelling at her.

"Katie have I ever told you that you're fucking crazy?!?" Meghan asked her panicking. "Because if I haven't, then I'm telling you now."

"What?! He was just checking on us. He's so sweet." She giggled.

"Ok enough." I told her sternly. "Just keep moving."

"Fine sassy pants." She responded abruptly before continuing to open her window. "It's open!" Katie cheered. She began climbing into the window when she screamed so loud I was positive she woke the neighbors.

She tumbled backwards, making us all fall backwards to. I would've said that Jadyn and Meghan broke my fall, but we all collapsed in different directions.

"Owwwww..." We all said in pain as we slowly sat up.

"Katie what the heck happened?" I asked her confused and angry. For some reason Jadyn and Meghan began laughing, finding this situation somewhat hilarious.

"I..." She whispered before pausing.

"Spit it out!" I yelled at her in full rage. My neck was beginning to hurt and I couldn't help but partly blame her.

She stuttered as the words slipped out of her lips. "Maybe I'm hallucinating but I'm pretty sure I just saw....
