Meghan's POV•
Katie stuttered as the words slipped out of her lips. "Maybe I'm hallucinating but I'm pretty sure I just saw someone standing in the corner of my room." Her face had turned pale by now as she barely whispered the end of her sentence.
We were all quiet and just stared at each other before I broke the silence.
"Oh don't be ridiculous!" I laughed. "Don't tell me that we just-" I gasped for the air I had lost from laughing so hard.
"just took a hard hit to our-" I was cracking up now as I tried to slow down my uncontrollable breathing.
"our asses over some dumb ass shadow!" I finished.
I was literally rolling on the ground laughing so hard I could hardly breath. Every time I tried to stop, I thought about the scenario, causing me to laugh even harder.
"Shut up." Katie snapped before starting to giggle. She could never keep a straight face when someone else was laughing.
"Guys I'm so freaking tired right now, can we just please sleep in the car or something?" Jadyn asked yawning.
"Ewww! That is not an option. C'mon girls get up. Same formation as the first time." Bridgid sighed as she brought herself up off the itchy grass.
"What happens if I loose my balance again?" Katie spoke up.
"Well, let's just say that you won't be spending Spring Break with more than three fingers... total." Bridgid growled just loud enough for us to hear. Katie looked offended but nervously laughed it off.

"Pleeeeeaaassseeee???" I pleaded as I stood by the doorway with my flashlight.
Once we had stood back on top of each other and managed to all climb into the window, I thought I heard a small knocking noise downstairs. I wanted to go check it out but Katie was too busy texting Taylor, Jadyn was too scared, and Bridgid claimed that she was, I quote, 'too tired'.
'Some friends I have.' I thought to myself as I turned on my heels and tiptoed silently down the stairs. I shined the light from the flashlight I found sitting on Katie's dresser.
For my own safety precaution, I had texted Matt about the whole situation. He didn't want me going downstairs alone and repeatedly explained he would drive over and search the house for us. What a brave cutie.
Using my iPhone, I called Matt and kept a steady conversation with him as I reached the end of the steps.
"Come out come out wherever you are..." I joked as I walked through each room on the main floor.
"Who are you talking to?" Matt asked me confused. "No one." I simply replied.
After circling each room, I didn't hear or see any signs of movement.
Since I still had some time to spare before the girls started to worry, I decided to check downstairs too (just to be safe!).
"Ok I'm heading downstairs to check now." I told Matt. He didn't agree and said it was too risky and dangerous, but I pushed his thoughts away and continued.
I slowly opened the door to the basement as it creaked loudly. They really need to spray some oil on the hinges or something. This was just getting old.
Making my way down the steps, I still didn't hear any unusual sounds to be alarmed by. The only thing I could hear was the sound of my feet pit-pattering down the floorboards creaking beneath my feet.
Once I reached the tile floor, I turned left and began circling around the furniture and peeking in small storage rooms.
"Found anything yet?" Matt questioned curiously.
"Nothing." I sighed as I switched the lights back off.
After making my way around the basement twice, I realized that I could be upstairs resting my legs and dreaming about Matt and I on the beach in a few days tanning next to each other. That just made me want to get past the weekend even faster!
I raced upstairs while grinning at the thought before closing the door behind me.
"Well this was utterly a complete waste of time." I told him and myself as I began to make my way back upstairs.
"Well I'm glad to know that you guys are safe now baby." Matt told me shyly. I could tell just from hearing him that his face was bright red and he was grinning from ear to ear.
"Haha, thanks sugar bear." I replied jokingly. He just laughed and told me to head upstairs and get some rest.
"Ok, ok mom." I laughed. "You know Mr. Espinosa it is way past your bedti-"
About halfway up the steps, something that I never would've guessed happened out of the ordinary.
I pinched my arm to see if I was dreaming.
I wasn't.
I dropped my phone in disbelief leaving Matt on the other end worrying.
"Meghan? Meghan?! What the hell, Meg are you there?!" He was nearly shouting and sounded as if he was about to cry he was so scared. I just stood there and didn't move a muscle.
