Ch.5- Ready, Set, Drive!

- Friday Afternoon -

Carter's POV•

Me and the guys had just gotten home from school when I got a text message from Jadyn. My heart felt like it was doing summersaults in my stomach just thinking about her.

"Was that Jadyn dude? Are they getting ready to go soon? Is Meghan still going?" Matthew asked me eagerly.

It was obviously because he couldn't wait to see Meghan again even though they were just talking before 7th hour. All he ever talked about was how perfect Meghan was and how he can't stand living a second apart from her. Matthew's not the only one though. Taylor wouldn't shut up about how beautiful Katie is and that he seriously has never loved any girl more than her. Don't even get me started on Shawn. He's already written 4 different songs about Bridgid since the beginning of the school year 6 months ago. He never stops playing his guitar and singing unless it's about her.

Maybe I shouldn't be complaining about them when I do the exact same thing. I don't need anyone to tell me that Jadyn is the thing I ever talk about day after day, week after week. The first time I saw Jadyn in 10th grade when we moved here I had immediately fallen in love with her bright eyes, smile, and personally. She was the one girl I had felt like I could never live without, never.

It took me all the courage in the world to grow enough balls to invite her to the movies. The other guys' were too nervous that they would say no so of course I ended up doing all the talking. God I was so nervous it was unbelievable! When I heard her voice after she answered I couldn't help but fall in love with her all over again.

"Hello? Earth to Carter." Matthew said, waving his hand across my face to catch my attention. "Well?"

"Yeah, yeah. They're all getting ready to leave Jadyn's house right now so we should probably get a move on."

All four of us slipped on our shoes and jackets since spring wasn't quite warm enough yet. I stood at the door texting Jadyn that we were on our way out the door as I stood impatiently for the others. One by one each guy passed by me with their own style.

Taylor chose to wear a red and white bandana with a sleeveless tie dye shirt that read 'MAGCON' across the front. He had on khakis with black shades. Matthew dressed like he normally would with a t-shirt and jeans. He had on one of the newest Magcon sweatshirt sale items that hadn't been sold online yet. Shawn wore a plain t-shirt and jeans. He said he didn't want to "overdress for his date" or whatever. I wore what I normally wear when I go out. Besides my white zip up hoodie, I had on a black flat top backwards that read 'MAGCON TOUR' in bright red letters.

I followed the guys one by one out of the house before locking the door behind me. Since Taylor is the oldest, he drove us while I sat in the passenger seat. Shawn and Matt wrestled and messed around in the back.

I checked my phone, noticing I had gotten a text message from Jadyn.

Jadyn: hey Carter, the girls and I just left the house and are on our way to the movies, what about you guys?

Carter: We just left the house too and will be there in 10.

Jadyn: Same. See you soon! Can't wait.

Carter: we can't either babe.

Jadyn: (;

After listening to the guys ramble on and on about how they can't wait to try their "moves" on the girls in the movies, we finally arrived. All of us had begun climbing out of the car before remembering one little special thing we had to do. We all sat back down in our seats and passed the breath spray around in a circle, squirting it into our mouths 3-4 times each. Matthew laughed from the feeling saying that it made his tongue tickle.

After our mouth spraying ritual we all jumped out of the car and ran towards the movie doors as we pushed each other back and forth.
