I bolted straight up.

It's a dream, I'm still here in America.

Oh my God! I can't believe all that's happening was just a dream.

Sana hindi na ako na gising! It hurts! It hurts so bad.

Hinawakan ko yung dibdib ko. Ang bilis ng tibok nito.

I wipe my tears.

I can hear Even Now by: Nina as the background.

"Jade!" I shouted at the top of my lungs. I don't care if Mom will hear me.

"Althea?"

"Althea?"

"Hey Love! Wake up!"

"Urrrnn.." I muffled

"Shit! Althea?! You're dreaming. Baby?"

Someone's shaking me. I can feel it.

"Lovelove?" My eyes flew open.

Pawis na pawis ako.

I can't move.

Nagising ako sa panaginip pero eto pala ang tunay.

"Love?" She said in a soothing voice.

"Are you alright?"

I swallowed.

"You're really here?" I choked out the words, afraid to realize that maybe she's just really a dream.

Nagtaka sya but answered:

"Yes." and kiss me on the lips.

Pinilit kong ngumiti sa kanya.

"Nightmare?"

I nod in response.

"About me?" She looked worried.

"Ye-yeah." I hesitated.

Pinatay nya ang radyo, dun ko pala naririnig yung background.

I noticed that she's reading something.

Its only 11 in the evening. I glanced at the wall clock.

"Why are you still awake?"

"Can't sleep." Ngumiti sya.

"Baka naman pinagmamasdan mo ako kaya binangungot ako?" I playfully said.

"Utot! Busy ako." Kinurot nya ako sa ilong.

Binabasa nya yung mga libro ko sa Civil Law.

Patong patong sa bedside table. Meron din syang mga notes.

"Gusto mo mag aral ulit?" Umupo ako sa tabi nya at sumandal din sa head board ng kama.

"Oo." Umangkla sya sa kanan kong braso at humiga sa balikat ko.

Tumango ako.

"After natin mag pakasal, mag aral ka ulit."

Napatingin sya sakin.

"Love, alam mo naman na.. na kasal na ako di ba?" Bumuntong hininga sya.

"And, same sex marriage is not legal here in the Philippines."
