The Sad Truth

Chapter Eight

I've been cutting myself so much these past weeks. My dads came home. Then they left for business.

Also Quinn joined glee club. Just when I thought I was safe. She brought three more guys from the football team with her. So now she taunts me in there too. She only joined because Finn kept bugging me. He kept trying to talk to me, that I had to change my usual routine to get away from him. But I do miss him.

Santana and Britney are my friends now. They ditched terrible Quinn. Now they keep a close watch on me so I had to buy foundation to cove my scars. But I have three that are too deep to cover. They're actually really good friends.

I still haven't told them why I cut. They know about my diary though, I figured they should at least know that. They've been so good to me, and protective when Quinn shows up.

Ever since they dumped her, she's been even more determined to ruin my life. She has the Cheerios and footballers throw slushies at me twice a day. Except the people in glee club. We've really grown as a club, and I'm pretty proud.

I walked into glee as everyone was there. I was wearing jeans and a dark green sweater with my black converse.

"What garbage can did you crawl out of?" Quinn snorted
"Hey Quinn! You look a little fat, maybe leave the twinkies in the garbage next time, you know, next to your pride" Santana smirked

I smiled a little as Quinn turned white. Everyone laughed. I sat next to Santana and Britney in the back as Mr.Schue walked in. Santana and Britney had their hands down and we high fived.

"Alright, sectionals, we need to start preparing, whose got ideas?" Mr.Schue asked

Everyone started talking,

"Lady gaga"
"Kiss"
"Evita, or west side story"
"Footloose"
"MJ"
"Kesha"
"Some Beyoncé"

Then I spoke up, and I never speak,

"What about a duet? Possibly Jordan Sparks No Air?"

Everyone turned to face me. Then they all began talking at once,

"Totally,"
"I agree"
"She's totally got the brains"
"Nice"
"I like it,"
"Nice idea Rach"

I showed a small smile as everyone agreed. Maybe high school isn't so bad. At least not when there's glee club.

"Yeah whatever, nice idea, but I think the duet should be me and Finn" Quinn said killing the vibe

Ever since she's joined she's been getting all the important solos, and duets, and leads. Everyone is not taking much liking to her. Not even puck whose in love with the damn girl. I can see Finn even gets annoyed now and then.

"Yeah, if we want to win third place," Mercedes says
"Cedes is right, we can't have you honking on stage" Kurt adds
"I am appalled, I am more talented then all you losers combined" Quinn said mad
"Is that right?" Mercedes said

She got up and went to the center of the room. She looked at mr.schue for approval and he nodded. Then she went over to the band and brad, where she whispered in their ears.

We all sat there as she began,

And I am telling you...

"Wow, Mercedes that was amazing," mr Schue says when she's done

I clapped loudly as Quinn rolled her eyes. Mercedes had such emotion and passion. She truly is talented. Since I am in the speaking mood,

"I think that should be our ballad" I smile

Mercedes smiles back,

"I think you're right Rachel" Mr.Schue says impressed

"Whatever, she can have the stupid solo, what about the duet?" Quinn asks annoyed
"I don't know, we'll have auditions" mr.schue says

Quinn looks mad,

"Auditions!??? Why? It's obvious I'm going to win, who else is going to sing, no one that's who!" She yells

We all sit there silent as she slouches in her chair while crossing her arms.

"Actually Quinn, Rachel will be auditioning" Mr.Schue says

What!?? Now it's my turns to get angry,

"Excuse me? No there's no way I am auditioning" I say crossing my arms
"Why not? You have an amazing voice" Finn adds

I clench my teeth and look at him,

"Butt out Finn" I say
"Yeah Finn, butt out" Quinn adds even more mad, if that's even possible
"It's final, Rachel I want you to audition" mr.schue adds
"What!?But I don't even have a partner!" I say frustrated and a little scared

He turns around and smiles as everyone looks interested,

"Oh yes you do, you'll be singing with the male lead, Finn" Mr.Schue says

I just sit there shocked as Santana and Britney nudge me excited, and everyone begins to erupt into conversations. While the whole time Quinn is yelling at Finn.

I still sit there mouth open as Finn shows me his cute side smile.
