Emily's POV

I washed off my wrist and pulled a long sleeve sweater on, over my tank top.

I then walked back into my room and jumped on my bed.

Out of the corner of my eye, I saw my reflection in my long mirror.

I got up and stood in front of it.

And just stared.

My mascara was ruined.

People were saying so much about me.

"I always knew she was a skank."

"No wonder he broke up with her.."

"And she expects people to feel sorry for her..lmao!"

I stared at my reflection, tears slowly dropping.

Why do people hate me?

Ryder's POV

We slowly and careflly tip toed to her window.

Her shades were together, but luckily we could see through them.

The sun shined into her room, giving it a pink gleam.

We didn't see her for a minute, but then we noticed her in the corner of her room.

Staring into her mirror.

She looked like she was crying, her makeup was ruined.

Nick stepped away from her window.

"Okay, we gotta go in there."

I got up, "No! We need to just leave her be! She needs space."

Nick looked at me.

I swear, I saw anger written all ove rhis face, but he tried to hide it.

"You're her BEST FRIEND. YOU of all people should be helping her. WE CAN'T GIVE HER SPACE NOW." He calmed himself down, then talked in a whisper.

"We can't give her time now, not at this point. It's too early. This is the point where we should be helping her, before she gets worse. We can't wait too long! Or it'll be too late."

A tear trickled down my cheek.

Why was I not helping her?

She was my best friend.

And I wanted to help her.

But, a little part inside my heart wasn't agreeing.

That part thought she was faking.

For attention.

Now don't get me wrong, I love her to death.

But she sometimes does look for attention.

Stop Ryder.

Don't we all.

But she shouldn't.

She's your best friend!

I was having a fight with myself.

And that small part was winning.

I looked at Nick right in the eye.

Tears still coming down.

"Oh god," he rubbed his forehead, "Ryder, I-I didn't mean it like that."

I shook my head.

Got up.

And ran.

"Ryder please!" Nick yelled.

Then I heard footsteps coming behind me.

"Ry, he didn't mean it like that."

Madison.

I turned around.

"Don't you get it?!" I screamed, "I'm a monster!"

I started running again, all the way home.
