"Claire, hurry! We will be late for class!" Liann called out to me. Oh no, I will be late! Buuuut, before that, let me introduce myself.
Hi everyone! I'm Claire, 17 years old and I'm a book wizard. I'm studying at the Book Wizard's Academy. This academy was the one and only academy here at the Avalone Land and Avalone is my last name, coincidence right? We are training here to fight bad guys and to restore peace to this place. And also to have fun helping everyone using magic.
"Claire stop that-- Oh, hello there, I'm Liann. Sorry, but we really need to go. We will be late and I don't want Sir Drake to be mad at us. Very sorry."
"Okay. Bye now! By the way, if you are wondering what I look like, just look above or at the side. That's me. Bye!"
~~ Two years ago ~~
• Claire's POV •
"Come here little kitten. I won't hurt you," I said and use my book magic: wind to fly up to the tree.
Right now, I'm helping a little cat to come down the tree and this little scenario was watch by almost all of the villagers that live here. And they all crowded the play around the tree. But I still keep on doing my job.
"But, I'm scared. What if I fall?" the kitten said.
Oh, I forgot. I have a magical power and I can speak to animals. Old folks here said that it was rare magic and this magic can only be found at the trace of the Royal Family of Avalone. And also my last name was Avalone and it was on my medallion when I was found by one of the villager here that take care of till I'm 15, now!
Oh! Focus Claire! The cat!
Now I'm reaching the cat. "Almost there. Come here. Don't worry. I will land you safely to the ground." I step to the other branch when it snaps.
"Ahh!" the people shout in worry. But good thing I was holding to another branch. I try to climb up and this time, I'm at the branch where the cat was.
"Oh! Are you alright?" she calls and steps closer.
"I'm alright. Hup! Ahh. Now come here. Let's go down from this tree." The kitten hops to my lap and I hug her. Then I ask, "Can you do me a favor?"
The cat looks up and I think she's puzzled. "What is it?"
"When I jump, can you please don't get afraid or scream or something?" the kitten didn't respond but I think that's a yes, since silence means yes! "Okay, in the count of three. 1, 2, 3!"
I jump down the tree and I quickly summon my wind from my book. And good thing I didn't get hurt because of my stupid idea. Hehehe.
<< Time Skip >>
The sun is already setting and people start to go home. And some night stores start to put their lights on and some were closing their shops. At the time like this, I usually go to the park and wait till the sky becomes dark then I go home. As I watch the scenarios around me, I got startled when I feel a sudden soft thing brush to my leg.
"Ms. Kitty, what are you doing here?"
"My name is Snow, see." She shows my her collar. It was blue and it had a little snowflake as a pendant. And it had a name Snow on it.
"Okay Snow, what are you doing here?" I repeat and wait for her answer. She sighs and gets up.
"You see. I'm not from around here. I leave at a castle where my bed was very comfortable. But I decided to take a little adventure around the town and while I was walking near the tree where you found me earlier, two dogs start to case me!" she said and her eyes widen. She looks at the empty face with disgust and maybe she was having a little flashback there. After some minutes she finally snapped out of her little space then continue, "And that's why you found me at that big tree."
"Okay. How about now? What happened?" I ask again.
"Well, I'm homeless okay. And I saw you here so I guess I can stay with you for a while, I guess?" she looks up and then she meows.
"Okay. But only for today."
"Deal. I will be going back to the castle tomorrow anyway."
After that, I walk home with the kitten on my arms. And she was already sleeping. Now I know what she looks like when asleep. One word, Peaceful. When I got home, I saw a letter at the front door.
"What is it? Where di--" I was about to reach it when it suddenly open and unfold. A paper flies to my level and began to speak.
"Your Claire Avalone, right?"
"Y-yes, I am," I said with a shaky voice.
"Then I need to tell you something. But before that, can I please come in. It's cold out here, you know!"
"Okay."
When we get inside the paper fly around as I shut the door. The cat which is Snow sleep at the couch.
"Okay, so tell me what you want," I ask and straight my back.
"So I'm an acceptance letter and you are invited to study at the Book Wizard's Academy." Wait, the Book Wizard's Academy?! But only high-class students can go there! But I'm only level 1. I still don't have that high ranking!
"What? How?"
"Here, just read it." He flew near me and I read the content.
Dear Ms. Avalone,
Greetings from the Book Wizard's Academy!
We, the professors from this school is inviting you to enroll and study at our school. A carriage will pick you up tomorrow to get you to the academy.
We will be waiting!

"Is that true?" I still can't believe it!"
"Of course it's true. If it's not well I might not be talking to you right now!" the letter said in high pitched voice. How annoying.
"But it said the carriage will be sending her tomorrow morning so I better get ready!" I run upstairs and get my old suitcase. It's big and full of dust so I better clean this. After some minutes of brushing, I search for the dresses that I might need and also some other things I need. It's 8 pm and I already ate my dinner for 45 mins. ago because of excitement and now I was writing on my diary, my own book where my spells are.
"Book come here. Let's starts to write now." I smile I close my eyes. I imagine all that happened this day and the quill fly at the front of me. It starts to write all who in my head. When I open my eyes, my page for today was already full. So the last thing is--
Good night, mom and dad. I hope I found you soon. And just like what I always promised and wish, I will become a great wizard someday.
