Chapter 8: Late

"Do you see her?"

"No! I can't see her if you don't keep on blocking the way!"

"I'm sorry master..."

"Now hurry up and prepare it! We don't have much time!"

"Yes, Master!"

"We will get you for sure, I promise..."

Second period is starting. Claire run to their next class, not wanting to be late for their first time at gym class. She already change into her gym clothes, blue jacket and matching jogging pants. Underneath is a white T-shirt and blue shorts.

From their first class, she have to run to their next room. She didn't want to use her winds again, afraid that she might get lost again. Snow can't be with her since she also have a class. So she bravely run around the now silent hallway to the garden, then to the gym.

She's finally at the front of the towering metal doors of the gym. But here, they call the gym into Herdin. She catch her breathe for a while, before opening the giant doors.

"...Hope I make it in time," she said and finally open the door. Only to find everyone looking at her silently.

"Ah... Um... S-Sorry I'm late..." she said while peering into the room. Their teacher, a tall man with broad frame look at her through the clipboard he's holding. Everyone was silent, making Claire to get very nervous. She can hear her heart beats inside her chest louder.

The silence grew into awkwardness. Claire can't endure the embarrassment so she just look down. After a minute, the teacher laugh. His laughter echo to the silent room, follow by the low chatting of her classmates.

"Ms. Claire it's okay. Now come along. I'm just taking everyone's attendance. But please try attending class early, okay?" the teacher said.  Claire bow and run to her line. To her surprise, Luke and her are at the same class, making her more comfortable.

"Claire, why are you late?" Luke said as the teacher, whose name is Mr. Benjamin Vernil is taking the attendance.

"Claire Avalone?"

"Here! I got caught by the crowd at the cafeteria that's why when I change my clothes,  I didn't realize the time. And I got late," she explain while scratching the back of her head. Luke just sigh in relief and they start the class.

"For today, I'm only going to see how strong your magical powers are. I will group you all into two pairs. Since it's the first day, you may choose your partner. Now group up and I'll explain the rest later," Sir Vernil said and blow his whistle. Everyone start to look for their partner.

"Luke/Claire...

Do you want to be my partner?"

"Eh?!" The two was shock because of the sudden questions.  They both ask the same question to each other. But it was then replace with laughter after a moment of silence.

"Sure! I can be your partner!" Luke is the first one to answer.

"Okay!" Claire said, nodding. "I can also be your partner!"

And so, the two became partners to their first activity. After finding a pair, everyone starts to line up according to their height. Then the teacher once again blow his whistle.

"... Okay, everyone seems to have a partner. Now shall we begin?" he ask.  Everyone say yes afterwards, signaling that he can now start explaining the rules.

"Okay, the rules are just simple in this activity. You all will be teleported into the Maze Garden. Everyone will try to escape it while fighting the monsters and being chained with a magical spell. This spell will loosen up after defeating a monster. But it will take a while since it's was made by your magical powers. You all must escape the maze within a time limit, 3 hours and all by taking off your chains. You cannot get out if you still have magical chains onto you.

"Now, your will be teleported into different parts and situations. The time is ticking down so please hurry. You all only have 3 hours to get out. Everyone who didn't make it will be automatically be teleported to the infirmary and will be out of the activity, but with a corresponding points so don't worry. Everyone good luck and hope you all escape," the teacher end his speech and tap his long cane to the floor, making a loud bang.

Light glows and written runes starts to spread out. His book flipping it's pages while circling him. Then it stops, finding the spell and opening his eyes, he silently chant it and finishing it with a blinding light. Everyone was then disappear at the Herdin and was brought to another place.

A place that is beyond their wildest dreams...

From a far, far away place, where the world of your fantasies are, there's a little kingdom their named Avalone. It may be small, but it's ruler and people are all gifted and powerful to their own way.

One day, their queen give birth to two children. And to the kingdom's delight, its a twin, a girl and a boy. The two look like their mother and father. The girl looks like the baby version of her mother, while the boy looks like his father.

On their 3rd birthday, when the whole kingdom is celebrating, a bad news happened. An unknown mages attack the Kingdom of Avalone without any warning. Because of this, the celebration became a bloody hell; bodies of death people are all scattered around the place, blood and flesh at the cemented roads of the kingdom, and the sounds of cries and clashing of swords and the sound of flipping pages and magical runes were everything that you can hear.

Most of the people escape and make it out alive, but for their queen, its a dead end. While protecting her precious little children, she risk her life and create the most powerful magic of all. The Book's Wishing Spell... The forbidden kind of magic that can destroy everything that have evil tactics. But if it was used in wrong way, even those people with pure souls will disappear.

However,this magic requires a great magical power and a high leveled Book and most of all, the greatest price: your life. Despite that she's at lost of magic, she spend it all and chant the Book's Wishing Spell, destroying all the evil mages, her Book and magical powers and even herself.

The whole kingdom was again back to normal, but their are changes... Their memories are all cleared about their day, the twins are separate, someone's soul is inside the other's body. The whole Avalone was put in a great secret that was waiting to be unravel...

...until the two finally meet again!

Hi! Long time no see! I'm sorry for a very long update. I finally update to my story. But I'm happy that there are still people reading this. I add some changes in here to make some plots more clearer since I always make a skip from chapter to chapter. So I add some side stories! 😀😀 It's just a little background from our heroins. And also, I'm sorry for the wrong grammars and stuffs. Please tell me if I make some typos and also I need ideas! 😣😣 It's Christmas break so I have time to change and write some more and maybe update a new chapter. Thanks anyway!
