Winry pov:

"Ed, Al, where are you?" I hollered while I went around the house looking for them. Stalling in the living when I couldn't find them, I put my hands on my hips and complained, "Mou, I go into the kitchen for one minute to get them breakfast and they're nowhere to be seen!"

With a helpless sigh, I returned to the kitchen to cover the bowls of food to make sure they stayed warm. As I did so though, I remembered what I heard Ed speaking about last night – he and Al were planning to visit their mother's grave in the morning. Perhaps they had left early.

Another sigh left my lips. Ed had yet again ruined his automail arm after getting involved in something dangerous. No matter how many times I fussed over him, he was always so careless! He constantly got into so much trouble, all of it dangerous and perhaps even life threatening! Aunt Pinako had lost her sons in the army, and knowing that, Ed and Al joined the military too. It's true that it was their only way of being able to find a way to get their bodies back, but it still worried us so much.

Many times I had wished they could just stay here with us as they were, and stay safe.

Den's barking had me snap out of my thoughts. She was usually a very calm and friendly dog and only barked when we had unknown people visiting us. Well, she did bark whenever she saw Ed and Al but her barking didn't sound very friendly this time.

"What is it, Den?" I asked whilst stepping onto the front porch. She glanced up at me for a moment before looking ahead again and barking. Following her gaze, I saw a girl about my age walking hand in hand with a younger boy. The boy, quite surprisingly, had big, round, animal ears atop his head and I was pretty sure I could see a tail too.

Blinking several times didn't change the sight I saw and wariness stirred in me when she only got closer and finally stopped in front of our porch. Something about her seemed almost dangerous and had me worrying about who she was and why she was here.

"Are Edward and Alphonse here?" she asked with a friendly smile, though it didn't ease my wariness.

"W-who are you?" I questioned, mentally cursing for stuttering.

"Ah, sorry, I should introduce myself first. I'm Arisa Lee, the Silver Wing Alchemist."

I wondered why a State Alchemist was looking for Ed and Al. Had they done something wrong? Were they in trouble?

"May I come in?" she asked, making me momentarily tense.

For some reason, I felt a bit too uneasy. I hadn't ever felt uneasy when other people from the military came asking for Ed and Al, but something about this girl had me feeling uncomfortable. I just nodded, letting her in silently.

"Nice house," she commented as she took a seat on the couch while the boy with her went around looking at all the things in our house curiously. He didn't touch anything though and I was glad for that.

"Ari sama, Leo hungry!" the child whined after a moment and sprinted to her.

She smiled before revealing some parceled buns from her bag. The child took one from her happily and munched on it while taking a seat beside her but she didn't eat. Instead, she looked out of the window, her eyes distant. With a sigh, she narrowed her eyes slightly, her expression changing to a daunting one, and it made me feel even more uneasy than before. I mentally prayed for Ed and Al to return soon.

Thankfully, it wasn't long before they did return. They seemed surprised to see the girl here but were quick to join her in the living room with smiles. The boy with her though cowered hid behind the couch.

"Arisa nee chan!" Al was the first to chime.

"Hey, Arisa! What are you doing here?" came Ed's greeting next. They seemed to know each other well.
