Arisa pov:
The meeting with Col. Mustang and Lt. Hawkeye had wrapped up on a positive enough note. Despite all the explanation I had given them, they were still wary of it – it was expected since I had hidden the truth from them and I still hadn't given them a clear enough explanation. Still, they had kept their promise to keep the details of my past a secret, and that was more than enough for me.
I had had some fun when I showed them how my smart glasses and cell phone worked. They were both stunned and impressed by the technology. I had insisted the colonel to wear the glassed and try the zoom feature. He had got so surprised that he had fallen off his chair. Well, the gadgets were what made them believe me enough, but the colonel had restricted me to doing paperwork in the office or missions within the city limits until further notice.
Envy had listened to our conversation the entire time, as I had suggested him to. Surprisingly, I didn't see him after my interrogation and it's been three days since he's visited. I suppose he was taking some time to digest the information.
"Ahh, I am so tired of doing paperwork," I said with a sigh, leaning far back on my chair. I closed my eyes as well, nearly dozing off in seconds.
The sound of a knock on the office door had me wake. Straightening in my seat, I eyed the soldier who stepped into the office and darted his eyes about in mild nervousness. He was young and I guessed he was a new recruit.
He approached me and squirmed under my stare a moment before he spoke, "Um, Miss Arisa, I was asked to escort you to the Fuhrer."
We had been notified that the Fuhrer had come to East City on parole. He would be staying here for a week and he was using one of the general's office rooms as his own during his stay here. I was a bit curious as to why he would want to meet me – perhaps it was because my stealth skills had been the talk of the season. It would be cool if he wanted to give me a special mission.
Standing, I slowly pushed my remaining stack of paperwork to Lt. Havoc and Lt. Breda.
"Oi oi! What do you think you're doing? This is your share!" Lt. Breda hollered while narrowing his eyes at me.
"But the Fuhrer has called for me. What if my discussion with him takes too long? Col. Mustang said these papers have to be done in one hour and if we don't finish it..." I trailed off innocently.
The two lieutenants paled, imagining how it would be if Col. Mustang decided to snap his fingers in anger. I would be spared because I was to meet with the Fuhrer but I doubt the other two working on the paperwork would be spared.
"Jeez, alright, shoo!" Lt. Breda said, waving me off with his hand.
With a laugh, I stepped around the table so I could go to see the Fuhrer. I stalled a moment though and looked to Leo, "C'mon Leo, let's go."
With a twitch of his ears, he met my eyes. Gathering all the one sided sheets I had given him to draw and color on, he stood and hurried to put them along with his box of crayons in the drawer of my table as I had instructed him to do. Moments later, he was at my side, holding my hand as he walked with me to the Fuhrer's temporary office.
The soldier escorted me through the corridors but as we got closer to the Fuhrer's temporary office, I began to sense the presence of a homunculus. I narrowed my eyes when we stopped outside the door and the soldier knocked to get permission from the Fuhrer for me to enter.
Upon receiving permission and stepping into the room, I clenched my jaw tightly. There was no mistake in my sixth sense. What I felt when Envy was close and around me was exactly the same feeling I got now from the Fuhrer and his secretary. I remained silent and tense until the soldier excused himself and closed the door as he left.
