Arisa pov:

"Thank you for letting us stay over, Gracia san," I said with a bow, standing just outside the main door of her house.

I had slept well last night, and Gracia san she had treated me and Leo to a delicious breakfast this morning. She had insisted us to stay for lunch too, and our stay had extended till the early evening thanks to Elicia dragging Leo out to play with her.

"It's no problem, Arisa dear. In fact, I'm happy that you visited. I'm also glad that the chimera found a good friend like you – I support the fact that they shouldn't be treated any different from other people," she replied with a warm smile.

Giving her a bow, I then called out to Leo so we could head back to the military. I'm sure Col. Archer was waiting for my report and wouldn't be happy if I dilly-dallied any longer.

A laugh left my lips at the sight of Leo and Elicia sprawled out on the grass. Elicia was lying on Leo's stomach and they were laughing. Leo was quick to react to my calling though and they got up and hurried to us, with Leo colliding into me with his arms wrapped around my torso. His tail was swishing in his happiness and I regarded him with an affectionate smile while I held his shoulders. It was obvious that he was overjoyed to being in the company of someone who liked him and was close to his age to play with. In fact, Elicia seemed to find his ears and tail cute and it made Leo purr in happiness when she rubbed them.

"Leo like Elichia sama!" he chimed, looking up at me with a grin and a blush.

"I'm glad," I said, giving his head a pat. "And it's Elicia, not Elichia."

Tilting his head to the side curiously, he asked, "Elichia sama?"

I shook my head with a laugh. It seemed his pronunciation was still a little off, along with his habit of using the honorific sama.

"Elicia chan," I spoke, hoping to at least help him drop the honorific.

"Elichia chan!" he chimed and I nodded in response.

"That's right. Now, say goodbye to Elicia chan. We have to go and report to Col. Archer now."

"But Leo want to play with Elichia chan!" he whined with a pout.

"We'll come back again. But we have to go now," I explained. He nodded though remained pouting. After promising Elicia that we would come over to play again, we made our way to the headquarters.

We took a detour though, going through some of the residential road to stop in front of Sheska's house. There was no response to my knocking and it had me wondering where she could be. It would be difficult to search for her either in the headquarters or in the city. There was something I wanted to talk to her about and I considered her house the best place for it.

Assuming that she might not have heard my knocking the first time, I knocked again, harder this time. It was a few moments before I heard shuffling and the door opened to reveal Sheska, her hair super messy and sticking out in all possible directions. She wasn't wearing her glasses and she looked rather sleep-deprived. Her eyes were puffy and her face was bloated.

"Arisa?" she mumbled, stifling a yawn. "What are you doing here so early in the morning?"

Raising a brow, I said, "It's one in the afternoon, Sheska."

My words didn't seem to register. She mumbled something about how much of a pain it was to always wake up early. I figured it was best to spare the small talk and get right to the point.

"Sheska, I want to see every last bit of information you collected for Hughes san. I think there's something strange going on in the military and I wasn't to find out what it is. I want to know what Hughes san had found out."
