Five

I didn't want to get up from my bed. I didn't really want to do anything at all. I just wanted to stay in my comfy bed and maybe sleep for another day. I was already five minutes late to work maybe I shouldn't even go at all, I thought to myself. Cause once the day starts I'll be wishing for it to end.

I didn't want to see his face today. I hadn't talked to him since Friday and here I was, Monday morning trying to find an excuse not to go to work.

It was already September and I could feel the change in the climate. It wasn't cold but it did feel a lot cooler than the first day I arrived. I had been enthusiastic for the job and I still was but since Harry said what he said I've just lost some interest in it. I know what he said isn't right, well I hope. Yet that's the thing, I couldn't help but think that what he had said could be true. Now every morning would be spent on preparing my brain for every possible scenario that involved Harry.

I took a deep breath before getting up of bed and going to the bathroom to take a shower. About ten minutes later I got out changing and looking at myself in the mirror.

"You are a strong girl. You are nothing he said that day. You are a nice girl who cares about everything but money. If he can't see that then he's more of an idiot that you already made him up to be." I said to myself placing a smile on my face.

I grabbed everything I needed placing it on my bag before heading out to work.

"Good morning Emma. Mr. Strain wants to see you in his office." Teresa said smiling lightly at me. She seemed to be worried for me.

I wouldn't really expect anything less. I hadn't even worked for a week now and I had already been late to my job. I smiled back at her thankfully before getting into the elevator and pressing the button for the eleventh floor. As I walked through the halls of the floor I couldn't help but feel a bit nervous.

First of all, I didn't want to be fired which would probably happen in the worst of cases yet it still had me worried sick.

Second of all, although Harry's office is below mine's in the tenth floor he would normally be seen around this floor quite frequently. Running into him was the last thing I wanted to deal with.

I took a deep breath knocking fearfully on the two big doors that belonged to Julian's office. After a few seconds the floor swung open with a smiling Julian on the inside.

Was it just me or was he a bit to happy to see me?

"Emma please come in." He said opening the door a bit wider giving me space to enter.

The office was just as big as Liam's though it had a bunch of windows behind his desk with an amazing view to the city. I slowly sat in one of the two chairs that were in front of his desk and waited for him silently to start talking.

"I wanted to congratulate you on the informs you made on the publicity offers we got." He said moving forwards as he leaned on his desk intertwining his fingers placing them on top. "Liam sent them to me this morning and I was looking for you but I didn't find you." I swear to God I saw his face change.

"Which leads me to another thing I still have to ask you."

Here is comes Emma, prepare yourself to be scolded and probably loose your job.

"How do you feel?" He asked leaving me shocked.

"Um I feel fine sir." I answered not sure of what he meant.

"Great then. Harry told me this morning how you were feeling sick and decided to skip work but I guess you came after all." He said what seemed to be a proud look in his face.

Sick? Harry? First of all I was never sick and second of all why would Harry save my ass if he hated me so much. I bet he would do anything to get me out of this company and not see me 24/7. Yet that brings me back to the same question. Why did he help me?

"Oh yes. Since it's just my first week here I didn't want to disappoint you Mr. Strain." I answered composing myself and playing my part.

"Well that's amazing." He said smiling. "That's all for today Emma, you can go to your office now. If I need you I'll make sure Teresa calls you." He said as I stood up from my chair nodding thankfully as I got out.

I walked towards my office taking the phone in my desk pressing a bunch of numbers.

"Teresa hey I need a big favor."

"Sure Emma tell me what you need." She answered nicely as always.

"I need you to tell me what number is Harry's office. I know it's in the tenth floor but I'm not sure where."

"Oh sure. It's 108." She said as I thanked her hanging up.

I stood up form my chair walking towards the elevator. Harry had some serious explaining to do.
