I awoke, my eyes still closed, to soft sheets, and the morning light trickling in through the blinds. As I rouse from a heavy slumber I am first aware of the coolness of the air and it's delightful fragrance. I open my eyes blinking a few times as I stretched my arms. What time was it? How long had I been asleep?
All these question left my mind as soon as I realized I wasn't in my comfy bed but I was in fact on a couch. I lay there for a moment not caring I was in a strangers couch debating whether or not I should get up. I let out a quiet yawn, slowly getting up, no sign of another person. I looked around the apartment. Cardboard boxes scattered all around .
"Finally you are up. I thought you were dead." A voice came out of nowhere startling me.
I turned my head 90 degrees backwards watching as a shirtless Harry entered the room. I turned around immediately taking off the blankets that were on top of me keeping me warm. I was surprised that I was still on the same dress I had placed on last night.
"You just moved in? I thought you already lived here when I arrived." I said referring to the cardboard boxes that were taking every single space left in the apartment. He had already placed a shirt on top of his bare chest.
There was a small silence at first. I thought he hadn't heard me since he wasn't answering.
"Oh I have lived here for about four years now. Though I'm moving out in a couple of weeks or in a month, so I don't see the need to unpack." He simply said.
Why was he moving out? Was it because of what he said to Mike the other day? The fact that he didn't want me as his neighbor because he hated my guts.
"It's not because of you Emma." He said as if reading my mind. "Leaving you and not having you as my neighbor is just a bonus. " He said grinning. "A very incredible bonus."
"Okay Harry I get it. You hate me, now tell me why am I here." I said curious on how had I gotten into his apartment and on his couch.
"Yeah you are completely right, I hate you. About the fact that you are in my apartment irritating the hell out of me is because you fell asleep in my car. I was going to go through your bag to get your apartment keys but it felt wrong so I just placed you in my couch." He said grabbing a banana from the kitchen's counter pealing it off.
"Oh." I simply said.
"Like I said before, I'm a gentleman and I wasn't going to let you stand on the street alone just because I hate you." He said explaining.
"Whatever." I said rolling my eyes. "Can I go now?" I said already standing up no matter what he was going to say.
"I need my bag." I said looking around for it. He just pointed behind me as I turned around noticing my small bag placed on top of a table.
"You know I was actually up at night thinking why your brother cancelled on you. Maybe he can't really stand your presence, like I said." I heard him say as I was walking towards the door.
Did he not get tired of insulting every time he saw me?
"Oh so you thought about me?" I asked playing his game.
"Yup. It was some nasty nightmare. Horrific." He said as I rolled my eyes walking out of the door closing it behind me.
I took the keys out of my bag opening the door entering my apartment. I didn't really have anything planned for today; after all it was Sunday morning or was it afternoon?
I looked down at my watch noticing it was already two o'clock. Wow Harry was right, I was probably too tired, cause apparently I slept through the whole night and morning.
I looked at the other flower mom had send me a couple of days ago to work, so she decided to send another one. Now, I was no expert in flowers but I'm pretty sure the ones she had just sent me were daffodils. I smiled before going to the bathroom and jumping in the shower. I stepped into the refreshing water that poured down onto my skin. I closed my eyes the heat soaking into my skin.
I couldn't take my mind off of Harry. What had happened last night roaming through my head. I still couldn't believe what he had said.
I mean if your dad hadn't died from cancer he would have probably died irritated of having to deal with you as a daughter.
What was his problem? Had he never lost someone he loved before? Cause he didn't seemed to give a damn about how that small insignificant sentence affected me.
He hated me and right now I couldn't care less, though it did bother me the reason to why he hated me. It was just so unfair how he judged me so instantly because of my last name. I'm no stuck up girl that only cares about money, nor am I daddy's little girl that goes crying home because her heel broke.
I thought he was a nice guy, an actual gentleman like he made himself to be. It's crazy how wrong you can be about a person.
As I got out of the shower I wrapped a towel around me opening the bathroom's door immediately feeling the change in the air. The apartment was freakishly cold. I rushed taking out a pair of pajama shorts and placed a random t-shirt on before brushing my hair, after all I wasn't planning on going out.
Once I was finished I started to hear screaming and arguing. At first I thought I was crazy but as I heard a loud thud and some more screaming coming from next door, I knew I wasn't.
Did Harry just hit the wall?
