"Emma? Hello, earth to Emma." I heard a voice say as some fingers snapping could be heard.

"Oh sorry I was just distracted." I said returning to the conversation running my fingers through my messy hair and pulling it into a ponytail.

"So as I was saying. I'm dating someone." Scarlett said.

"So who's the lucky guy?" I asked curious.

It had been about two hours since Harry had left my office. I wondered what would he and Tyler be talking about.

"Just some random guy I met at Starbucks. His name is Carter." Scarlett kept talking with dreamy eyes.

"Well make sure to tell him that if he breaks your heart I'm personally going to cut off his balls in his sleep and send them to him by mail."

"Wow that's really disturbing. You are pretty frightening. By the way who sends mail now days?" She said obviously finding everything funny.

"I don't care Scar. I'm just doing my job as a best friend."

"Whatever, there will be no need for that. Carter is a really nice guy. The fact that his really hot is just a bonus." She said shrugging happily.

"Fine I'm just saying."

"Don't worry Em, I know how to defend myself. Thank you though. I don't know what I would do without you." She said flashing me a goofy face as she stood up.

"You are leaving already?" I asked pouting.

"Uh yeah. They pay us to work Emma not to talk."

"Yeah I know I just wanted you to stay for another while."

"Well you know Mr. Strain's rules. No work no pay."

"Fine. I'll see you later then." I said giving up. "Hey Scar, if you see Harry, please tell me." I said before she went out.

"Sure, but you can't be worried all day Em. It's just a meeting." She said rolling her eyes.

"Is Liam gone too?"

"Oh I get it, you think it's one of those meetings?"

"I wouldn't be worried if it wasn't Scarlett." I said obviously.

"Why are you even worried Emma? I thought you guys hated each other's guts." She said looking at me question in her eyes.

I couldn't help but think that she was partially right but things had changed between Harry and me. Hadn't they?

"It's complicated."

"I can deal with complicated Emma. Harry and you, that's a whole new level of complicated." She said annoyed. "I hope I get some explanation soon." She said raising her eyes brows looking at me seriously before walking away.
