Here I was heading to the cafeteria. I saw I was actually late. Today Mr. Strain had given me bunch of new papers I had to view. So I had missed about ten minutes of my lunch break.
I saw the table that I was now so accustomed to and smiled lightly at myself as I walked to where my friends were.
"So what are you guys arguing about today?" I asked jokingly sitting down between Scar and Louis. I would normally seat between Liam and Louis. Just as the first day I came to Concrete, but Liam was nowhere to be seen.
"Oh we were just discussing who was the hottest one from the group." Niall said with food on his mouth sitting right in front of me. Why the hell did he always have food? Did he have like a never-ending stomach to stuff all the food he ate during the day?
I remembered two days ago I had bought a batch of a dozen cookies from a place couple of blocks away from the company. I used to go there with my mom every time we came to visits my dad in New York. I placed them besides my computer on my desk and went to take some papers to Mr. Strain. When I was back I found Niall with both legs crossed on top of my desk stuffing his face with my cookies. Apparently chocolate cookies were his favorite too. I think every single food spots it's his favorite, no surprise there.
"So who won?" I asked curious to know what my crazy friends had said while I was gone.
"Again I'm the clear winner of course, I don't get why we are arguing about this. I mean common, girls can't resist my good looks." Louis said smirking sexily flipping his hair in a sassy way.
The whole table broke into a fit of laughter. They looked like complete retards but so did I.
"Whatever you say big guy." Ali said trying to contain her laughter.
"So where's Liam?" I asked missing his presence. Actually as I looked behind Niall that was seated in front of me I notice the table Harry now sat in was completely empty.
"He has this private meeting at the fifteenth floor." Niall simply said getting glares from the whole table.
"Niall we are no supposed to talk about that." Kath said punching his side lightly.
"Fifteenth floor? I didn't know the building had a fifteenth floor." I answered back. When Tyler brought me the first day he hadn't taken me to that floor. I wondered what was there?
"Oh yeah it's kind of a restricted conference room. We think it's just for the top Management workers." Scar whispered. Why was she whispering? What was there to hide?
"And you know about this because...?" I asked my mind full of question.
"Teresa misdirected a message that was meant for Harry and she accidentally sent to me. It was said something like: meeting in half an hour. Fifteenth floor." Louis answered said in a high-pitched voice trying to imitate Teresa's voice.
"Harry? Harry's in there too?" I asked curiously. Well that would explain why he wasn't here in the cafeteria.
"Yup. At least that's what we think." Matt answered. He wasn't much of a talker.
"Teresa then came personally to my office to tell me the letter wasn't for me but for Harry. She also said she accidentally wrote fifteenth instead of fifth floor." Louis continued.
"And Louis being the heedless guy he is, didn't believe her and brought me with him to search the whole building for the mysterious fifteenth floor." Scarlett cut him off as Louis rolled his eyes.
"So I took Scarlett with me and we were about to give up when we noticed the fourteenth floor had an emergency stair case like any other floor. But this staircase was locked. So we asked Joe, the janitor, for some keys and he being the clueless guy he is, gave them to us." Louis continued grinning looking back at Scarlett for her to go on with the story.
"It was pretty late so no one really saw us, we opened the door with the keys and walked up the stairs finding ourselves with a two wooden door. When we noticed it wasn't locked we entered coming to view with a conference room. That reason you didn't know there was a fifteenth floor is because you won't find it on the elevator's buttons." Scarlett finished.
It seemed like the whole table was up to speed with everything cause the only one lost and filled with question seemed to be me.
"Who else attends this meetings?" I asked still curious. The fact that they were still whispering caused shivers down my spine.
"Harry, Liam, and Tyler and some others. Your father used to be part of it too I think. Once Julian took the company we thought he was well aware of this conference room. We thought he was the one who called all the meetings and such since he's the head of the company but every time Harry, Liam and Tyler were no where to be seen always the same days always at the same time, you would always find Julian in his office or walking around the building's halls." Matt answered.
"So what you are saying is, Julian has no idea there is a fifteenth floor in this building were three of his employees hold some kind of secret meeting?" She asked. As it came out of her mouth it seemed so foolish. Why would people have secret meetings in an unknown floor? What could they be talking about?
"Yeah that's pretty much what we are saying." Niall answered casually. "But you can't say anything to anyone, we aren't suppose to know anything. We just know because of Louis' curious ass."
I simply nodded contemplating what they had just said. Tyler was part of this and so was my dad. And yet I never knew about this. Why had they never mentioned this?
"What days do they normally have this meetings? And at what time?" I asked curiosity getting the best of me.
"Emma, please tell you are not considering to go up there." Louis said worry in his eyes. "I mean I know I was the one who went up there in the first place but if you get caught you are probably going to get into some deep shit." He said warning me.
"I'm not going to go Louis." I'm totally going, I thought to myself. "Stop worrying." I said reassuringly.
"Fine. Well then, they are normally all missing every Monday, Tuesday and Thursday. Joe said his seen them going in the company one by one several Fridays." Louis said giving the reply I was looking for.
I nodded finishing my ham and cheese sandwich silently as they changed the conversation's topic. I couldn't stop thinking about this hidden floor. Curiosity filling every single nerve in my entire body. I had to find out for myself. I needed to find out if it was true.
It was like an unexplainable desire that was driving me crazy. Maybe the fact the Tyler was involved made it so questioning. Or was it the fact that Harry was in it too?
