“And smile!” my mum shouted to us all

The eight of us grouped together and posed for yet more pictures - my mum must of taken a million already.

“Right I need one of you and Reece together” my mum said, yanking both of us from the group 

She pushed us together and we posed awkwardly

“Reece put your arm round her and pull her closer” my mum instructed him

She clearly thought she was a professional photographer now

Reece glanced at April who gave a small nod and he pulled me closer

“Okay that’s enough mum” I said after the camera flashed, pulling away from Reece

“We need one of you with Ricky as well” Rhonda pointed out. She was taking as many pictures as my mum.

She pushed Ricky in my direction and my mum started firing out instructions at us

“Right one of you stood behind her please with your hand on her shoulder…. Now one of you with your arms round her…. Now one of you facing each other…. Now one of you holding hands…”

“Mum for gods sake it’s prom, we’re not getting married!” I exclaimed

Ricky looked quite flustered

I was really pleased though because he was wearing his grey tie that matched my dress. I’d popped round the night before and asked Rhea to give it to Ricky and tell him he obviously didn’t have to wear it but he could have it anyway seeing as I wasn’t going to have any use for it. His whole outfit matched mine and Reece was wearing a turquoise waistcoat that matched Aprils dress so we already looked like we were with the wrong partner… which technically we were.

Thanks to Justins new hair, him and Jodie looked fabulous together. Everybody had been shocked to discover that Jodie was Justins mystery girl; I think Faye had scared the poor girl with her over enthusiasm and her demands that Jodie describe in great detail how Justin had asked her to prom.

“Faye, Dan we need pictures of you now” my mum said, her and Rhonda turning their attention to them instead of us, “I promised your mums we’d get plenty of photos”

I looked up at Ricky, gosh he looked so handsome. It was with great restraint that I didn’t just throw my arms round his neck and kiss him there and then

“You look beautiful Emz” he whispered so that only I could hear

I blushed, smiling slightly

I felt like a princess in my dress and Rhea had done my hair for me, she’d told me she’d watched a tutorial on how to achieve the same hairstyle as Taylor Swift in the Love Story video.

She’d done a fantastic job. 

She’d also done my make up for me and unlike the usual smokey eye effect she usually did, she’d opted for a more natural eye look with bright red lipstick – I loved it. 

“You look so handsome” I whispered before moving apart from him

“Mum you should get some photos of Reece and April; they’re good friends so it would be nice to get some of them together”
