I hope people are enjoying this, I'd love to hear everyones views - good or bad.
I should hopefully be adding the next part tonight :)
*********************************************************
I waited an extra 20 minutes after school so as to avoid being seen by anybody I knew and then I met Luke by his car. We stopped at a fast food place on the way so he could pick up something to eat but I didn't want anything.
"You sure you should be eating that?" I asked, "You know what with the big game on Friday"
I'd meant it as a joke but Luke gave me a look as if I was crazy
"Pssshhh I'm a natural sportsman" he answered in a boastful tone, "I don't know whether your precious Ricky has to diet and stuff to be any good but I don't"
I rolled my eyes. Jeez, touchy much?
"You think I'm good at soccer don't you?" he said frowning
I wished I'd kept my big mouth shut now
"Yeah you're good" I said honestly. I was tempted to add on that he wasn't the best but I could sense that it definately would not go down well.
I was glad when we pulled up at his
"The house is empty again. We have a cleaner who comes in on a Monday afternoon but I told her not to bother today" he said, grinning at me suggestively.
I gulped, suddenly wishing that his whole family were there
"Come on" Luke said, grabbing my hand and pulling me after him. We ran up his stairs and he lead me to the room at the end of the hallway.
"Welcome to the bachelor pad" he said proudly, opening his bedroom door.
Lukes room fitted the stereotypical assumption for what male teens rooms look like. His walls were covered in posters of scantily dressed (and some topless!) women, with a few soccer ones here and there. I actually felt slightly uncomfortable with all that nakedness in my face.
"The boys have that picture" I commented, pointing to a picture on Lukes bedside table of the whole soccer team
"Coach says we're the best team the schools ever had" Luke said coming up beside me, "I mean last year we had people like Lance Richards and Rory Foster on the team but this year we're even better"
"Lance is coming to watch the game, he's really pleased how well the team have done" I smiled. My mum was ridiculously excited as usual about the fact Lance was coming home.
"If we win this we are through to the final"
I already knew this. Ricky, Dan and Justin had drummed it into mine and Fayes skulls and it was the main topic of discussion whenever Lance rang home.
"We've got scouts coming to this game. Coach reckons I'll be the one to get a scholarship"
"I think theres a few of you good enough to get one" I responded, careful not to name names
Luke shrugged
"I'll go get us drinks"
He left the room and I picked up the picture, sitting on his bed. Ricky looked so happy on this picture, he loved being on the soccer team. He had Dan and Justin sat either side of them; I felt a pang of sadness thinking that soon school would be finished with and the whole group would be going their seperate ways. Faye was hoping to go NYU to do performing arts, Dan had applied to a few colleges near there and Justin was hoping to go to somewhere near home. I still didn't know where Ricky wanted to go. I was scared about the future.
