***Ali’s POV***

It had been a month and a half without Benjamin. His dad had sent him to a mental hospital to get him help. They were lucky their grandma was living with them. She babysat Jeydyn so that Ben’s dad could work extra hours to afford to send him to that awful place.

The entire school knew about it. Someone had spread it around. Poor Ben was being made fun of when he wasn’t even here to defend himself. I missed him so much. I had been spending a ton of time with Jersey and Dekka to get my mind off of it.

I was walking to lunch right now. “Hi Hanley,” I said with a small smile as I passed him in the hallway. He looked up at me with the broken look he’d had for the past month and a half. “Hi Ali,” he mumbled with a slight smile.

“Ali!” Chris cried and ran over to me. “What?” I asked curiously. He noticed Hanley and grabbed my arm, dragging me away from him. When he was positive we wouldn’t be overheard, he began to talk to me.

“I hear that Ben is getting out of that place soon,” he said. My face lit up but my smile faded quickly. “Um…why didn’t you want Hanley to know that? He’s Ben’s best friend.” Chris sighed and ran a hand through his hair.

“Someone wanted him locked away. I just know it.” I gave him a confused look. “What do you mean?” “I mean that someone wanted him to go to a mental hospital.” He played with his lip ring.

“I think it was Jersey.”

My eyes widened. “Why would you think that?” I snapped. He raised an eyebrow. “Think about it Ali. Ben’s gone and you become depressed. Jersey uses it as an opportunity to get with you.” I wanted to slap him. Jersey would never do that!

“He wouldn’t do that,” I said simply.

“He would and you know it,” Chris said, crossing his arms. I shook my head and stormed away from him. Jersey wouldn’t do something that awful. But the thought of Ben coming back…a smile crept back onto my face.

“What’s with the smile?” Jersey asked as I sat down. “Ben is coming back soon!” I said, happiness exploding in my voice. Maybe he would even be cleared of his cutting habits.

Jersey got a furious look in his eyes.

It faded quickly and he smiled. “Awesome!” he said enthusiastically. I nodded, keeping my smile on. Chris’s words rang in my head. Was Jersey really that desperate to get with me? So desperate that he would tell Ben’s dad about his cutting addiction just to get him sent away?

I pushed it out of my mind as I ate and talked to my friends normally. School rushed by and I got in Pez’s car. “I’m driving to the Jarvis’s. JJ wanted us to watch Jeydyn for a little,” he said. I nodded and turned on music.

We listened to music until we were at the Jarvis’s house. We got out of the car and made our way up to the house. I placed my hands under my stomach to support it. I was getting so big. It felt like they were going to fall right out of my stomach at any moment.

I was always in a lot of pain. My feet were swollen and my back constantly ached. The good thing was that school was over in just a few short weeks. Then no one would stare at me anymore and I wouldn’t have to walk around with all this extra weight. I could relax on the couch until the twins were born.

We entered the house to see JJ smiling at us. “Hello kids.” “Hi Mr. Jarvis,” we said at the same time and smiled at him. He was holding Jeydyn. “Uh…what’s going on?” I asked in confusion. JJ opened his mouth but was interrupted when the door opened.

Ben entered the house.

We stared at each other and my eyes began to water. His grandma stood behind him with a soft smile. “Ben,” I whispered. I flung myself into his arms and he held me tightly. “God I missed you Ali,” he whispered and kissed me deeply.

“Benny!” Jeydyn shrieked. JJ set her down and she threw herself into his arms. “Jeydyn!” he cried happily and hugged her. “I missed you Benny!” she said and buried her face in his chest. He stood up with her in his arms. “I missed you too,” he whispered and kissed her forehead. I smiled at him.

He was so cute with his sister. I understood that he loved her in a way he could never love me. She was his little sister. She meant the world to him. I actually didn’t feel too jealous. It was obvious that Jeydyn needed Ben around.

And I need Ben around too.

“Ben,” JJ said, smiling as tears entered his eyes. Ben set Jeydyn down, keeping her hand in his, and faced his dad. I could see the conflict in his eyes. His dad had only sent him away because he wanted to help him. But Ben felt betrayed by the fact that his father had sent him to a mental hospital at all.

JJ slowly approached and wrapped his arms around Ben. Ben didn’t do anything. He just stood there awkwardly, which I had discovered was normal behavior for him.

After a little while of talking, Ben took my hand and led me up to his room. He sat me on his bed and smiled at me. He leaned down and kissed my stomach. I smiled at him. He was so sweet. “I love you so much Ben,” I whispered.

He pulled me in and kissed me. I kissed back passionately. I had missed him so much. I could feel the twins kicking. They must get excited around their father. Ben placed his hands on my stomach and smiled into the kiss.

Ben pulled away and took a deep breath.

As we wake up in your room
Your face is the first thing I see
The first time I've seen love
And the last I'll ever need
You remind her that your future
Will be nothing without her
Never lose her, I'm afraid
Better think of something good to say
But it's all been done more than once
I'll keep on trying
Oh god don't let me be the only one who says
No, at the top of our lungs there's no
No, such thing as too young
Second chances won't leave you alone
Then there's faith in love
She was always the one
I'll repeat it again, the one
No such thing as too young
Red lights flashing on the car we're kissing in
Call me crazy, I've always tried to remind her
That the future's just a few heartbeats away from disaster
I'm afraid that I've thrown it all away
No, at the top of our lungs, there's no
No such thing as too young
Second chances won't leave you alone
No at the top of our lungs, there's no
No such thing as too young
Second chances won't leave you alone
No, we'll repeat it again, there's no
No such thing as too young
Second chances won't leave you alone
Cause there's faith in love
If you kiss me goodnight
I'll know everything' is alright
Second chances won't leave us alone
Won't leave us alone
Cause there's faith in love

Tears gathered in my eyes and Ben pulled me close and kissed the top of my head. “I love you Ali. I’m here now and I’m not going anywhere,” he promised. “Thank you Benjamin. Thank you so much,” I said softly and closed my eyes, happy to be in the arms of the boy I loved.

Now we just had to deal with Jersey
