For @iasmimclarinatica sorry it's so late...😁 Anyway here you guys go! Enjoy! (Second time writing this, had one hated it. Let's hope this works!)
ANGIE POV
I secure my apron around my waist. (The short one, Idk what it's called) and tie my blonde hair into a ponytail. It my evening shift now from 18:00 until 21:30, when Green Leaf closed. I put my small notepad and pen in the pocket and emerge from the kitchen.
I stand at the entrance and after a minute somebody walks in. I greet them politely and move over to the front desk. I ask for the name and the young man replies with 'Ponte' I lead the black haired man and the blonde haired girl to the saved table for them, after grabbing two leather covered menus.
I pull out both the chair and they sit down. I place the menus down and step away from the table, giving them time to decide drinks and their meals. I walk back into the kitchen and my best friend Francesca, calls me over.
"I feel so sorry for that blonde," Francesca mutters as she adds diced onions into the pot.
"Why?" I question.
I was still new here, and Francesca was still filling me in on all the usual customers. Francesca sighs as she wipes a bead of sweat off her forehead and wipes her hands with a dishcloth.
"Well it's Maxi Ponte. He comes every month with a new girl attached at his hip. They never learn," Francesca purses her lips.
I looked at the girl through the window. She looked so innocent. Golden blonde hair, that fell in light curls on her shoulders. Full lips, covered in red lipstick. Brown eyes, her eyeshadow was a smoky eye.
"You never know, this time could be different," I murmur and Francesca let's out a laugh.
"It won't be. Angie, don't be so naive," Francesca tsks.
She goes back to her cooking and I walk back out. I go to the table, and see them still studying the menu. They look up as they see me. The girl smiles, and speaks first.
"I will have a Passion Fruit and Lemonade to drink, and a crumbed chicken schnitzel, with spinach and butternut on the side please," She says and I scribble away on my notepad.
"I will have a Coke, a rump steak three hundred and fifty grams, with a baked potato," Maxi says, not looking up at me.
I collect their menus after reciting the order. I walk away, after putting the menus back. I walk back into the kitchen and pull the piece of paper off the notebook, and tape it on the board. I walk over to Francesca and help her with cutting the meat.
"You aren't cutting it right," Francesca mutters and I sigh moving away from the meat.
I couldn't help but think about the blonde girl. I didn't even know her name, but I felt a connection. It was stupid, because maybe she was the one for Maxi. I groan internally and decided to help with the vegetables, getting some spinach out of the fridge.
"Maxi!" I faintly hear.
My head snaps to the window and I see the girl standing up from her seat, staring and at Maxi and a girl who were currently sitting in another book. I see the blonde's broken eyes as she starts to shout at him. Maxi, listens uninterested, I see his hand on the girl's leg that was next to him.
Maxi and the girl get up and start to walk out. Maxi salutes the blonde and saunters out with the girl on his side. The blonde slumps back into the leather couch seat. I rush out of the kitchen and to the table, sitting opposite her. She looks up and sees me, she gives me a forced smile as she frantically tries to wipe away her tears.
"He ain't worth your tears," I say softly.
I reach over and take her soft hands into mine. the girl sighs and I start to draw circles on he back of her hand.
"What's your name?" She asks all of a sudden.
"Angie, you?" I reply, leaning over a bit.
"Ludmila," She replies simply.
"Are you okay?" I ask concern lacing my voice.
"I'm not, he told me he loved me. But I guess he obviously didn't. I guess I should've known, from his reputation from school. I was naive, and I guess I thought fairytales do come true. I was so wrong," Ludmila says shaking her head at herself
"People call me naive as well," I say and see a small smile tracing her lips.
"You wanna get some ice cream? I heard it helps with this kinda stuff," I offer and she nods.
We get up and walk out of the restaurant, I call to somebody to cover for me. The icy breeze hits my face, and I notice Ludmila next to me let out a deep breath.
"Thanks,"
"No problem,"
