"Hey Kyler!" Sean ran up to me in his rugby kit.
"Hey Sean" I waved nervously as I tried to make my way to the library.
"Wait a minute; I need to talk to you about something." He slowed down once he caught up to me, his expression serious.
"Okay" I frowned, "What's up?" I stopped walking and turned around to face him.
"The biggest match of the season is this Friday" He began, "It's against Atlas Estate, our biggest rival, so we need our best players and I'm thinking of putting you in either left wing or full back because we'll need someone really fas-" and somehow during conversation I started wondering what Alistair might be up to, probably making his way to the library getting ready to search for a book three times thicker than the one he already has; raising his left eyebrow with a little scar on it in interest as he scans each book.
"-but you haven't been coming to practice lately and coach wanted to know if-"Alistair would probably be pretty good at rugby if he wanted to be, he'd surprise a lot of people since he doesn't look as strong as he is, maybe he'd even be a secret weapon; he'd make the uniform look good with the constricting shorts and skin tight shirts, he pretty makes anything look good- not because I like him or anything-because he generally has a nice body and a nicer face. Very nice eyes especially without his glasses, he should wear contacts more often they make him look really good, makes me want to k-
"Kyler are you even fucking listening?! Jesus Christ this is the biggest game of the season and here you are busy fucking daydreaming about who the fuck cares because it's not going to win us the fucking match!" He hissed and I forgot how passionate Sean gets about Rugby.
"Right sorry dude" I put my hands in defence, in fear that he might have found himself a gun during the time I was daydreaming, "I can't come to practice or the match because I'm studying for exams" I mumbled guilty.
"W-what?" Sean stared at me with large blue eyes as if I'd broken his heart, "But exams are like 2 months away-"
"Technically 6 weeks away, but my marks are really bad so I need to improve them fast"
"So you're dumping me for your academics?" He frowned as if the calculation didn't make any sense at all.
"Yeah" I sighed, "I have a tutor and everything"
"Why didn't you tell me before?" He asked brokenly, "this would have made things so much easier if you'd just gone to coach instead of leaving me hanging to defend you to the last of my breath, do you how many times coach was thinking of kicking you out and I defended you every time? Little did I know you decided to get yourself a little tutor without even fucking telling anyone " His eyebrows furrowed together in annoyance.
"I know and I'm sorry, I literally started a day ago"
"And your tutor has already got you willing to give up rugby?" I never discussed it with Alistair, if I did he probably would work around it because he's kind like that but to be honest I didn't want him to.
"I'm not giving up Rugby Se-"
"Yes you are" He breathed heavily through his nose to calm down, "anyway, I'll talk to coach and we'll probably replace you with Lyam or something" He mumbled.
"I really am sorry Sean" I felt the guilt begin to settle in because I never realised how much it meant to him to have me there at the matches and be a part of the team.
"It's cool man, I'm sorry for getting angry about you wanting to improve your marks, it's a good thing.
"Yeah?"
