Why did I agree to this?

Now that I think about I was just agreeing so Alistair would shut up, maybe I should call and tell him something popped up.

that's exactly what I'm going to do...right now.

"Oh, A karate tournament? That's sounds like fun. I'm glad you're going to somewhere decent instead of these house parties of yours" My mom mused as we got in the car.

"M-ma, I think I'm not feeling too well" I half lied. I did feel like puking and my palms were sweaty, it seemed like a pretty legit excuse to use.

"Oh, I know what you're up to young man. You are going whether to like it or not" she said sternly as we got on the road and drove in the direction of place," This Alistair person seems very genuine and nice"

"too nice" I mumbled and slid lower into my seat. Once we got closer we got to the building, my stomach was doing flips and my heart was beating out of my chest and it was suddenly hard to breathe.

And it was super annoying because I didn't know why.

My mom turned around with a huge grin on her face after she parked the car in the parking lot," I'm going to come in with you an-"

"No ma!" I groaned.

"Calm down" She laughed," I'm just going to say hi to the parents and then leave. is that okay with you?" She smiled.

I just grumbled as I got out the car, I crossed my arms over chest as I made my way to the entrance. The sky was blue and the building was shaped as a white cylinder with three storeys, it looked extremely high class for a karate event but I tried not to pay much attention to it.

As my reached the entrance there was a pretty buff guy who were a black suit staring at me before he nodded at me giving me permission to enter. The place was very spacious, a huge blue platform was placed in the middle of the building, there were seats that elevated to the top of the roof and the roof was a sun roof, the bright sun shining through the glass making it look pretty look.

"Kyler!" I heard Alistair's voice behind me, I turned around to see him without his glasses and I have to admit he looked a lot better without them. He smiled shyly and awkwardly waved at me," Thank you for coming"

"Anytime bro" I smiled and we stood awkwardly in front of each other, I really just felt like staring at him the whole day but it would have been creepy so I turned away from his gaze to control myself," Where did your glasses go?" I asked as it gave me an excuse to stare at this face.

"Oh, I wear contacts whenever I attend such tournaments. It cost a lot for those glasses" He smiled slightly and played with thumbs and laughed slightly when I snorted," Would you like to meet my parents?" He looked at me hopefully.

"Uh, do I have much of a choice?" I smiled and shrugged. He gave me a nervous smile before leading me up a couple of steps along the seats till' we reached the top where there were luxury seats an sure enough there, there was a man and a woman sipping champagne as they waited for the event.

"Mother, Father; I would you to meet my friend Kyler" He introduced an played with his thumbs again.

"Oh! That's fantastic!" his mom exclaimed and got out her seat pulling his dad along.

"It's great to meet you Kyler. Alistair has mentioned you once or twice to us. It's great to see that he's finally made a friend" Hid dad with a low rumbling voice, he wear a white golf shirt and brown pants with blue sneakers made out of luxury material.

"Yes, sir" I nodded and smiled nervously.

"Don't call me sir. You can call me Robert" He extended his hand for a shake and I shook it.

"Robert" I repeated and nodded at him.

"And you can call me Margret" His mom piped in with a huge grin on her face as she also shook my hand. She wear a light purple sleeveless shirt and the same pants as his dad and a pair of huge shades on her face. I could see where he got his extremely blonde hair from and his dad had given him his vividly green eyes.

"You're going to frighten him" Alistair complained with a mumble.

"It's okay" I laughed," I think I can handle them" He smiled nervously again before making his way down towards the platform in the middle.

"We met your mother before you arrived, she's a very sweet person. I think we're going to be great friends" She grinned and bobbed her head from side to side in excitement.

"Honey, do calm down" Robert asked with a weary look before focusing his gaze of me," Kyler, would you like something to drink? A milkshake perhaps? Alistair loves milkshakes" He informed.

"Um, Okay" I shrugged with a smile, he nodded and walked up the stairs to someone who seemed to be working here as he conversed with them.

"I'm so sorry I got so excited. I hope I wasn't coming on too strong" Margaret said pulling a worried face once Robert was gone.

"Its okay" I smiled and looked ahead of me, taking in the view.

"Its just....he's always had difficulty making friends his whole life and I'm just so glad that someone has bothered to pay attention to him and just be there for his sake. Even though he seems very proper and independent, deep down inside he really does like to have company; he wants someone to lean on every now and again, I wish people weren't so quick to judge" She sighed and looked at me with a sad smile.

"Well, I'm glad to be here. I'm not leaving him anytime soon" I replied with a slight smile.

"Thank you" She whispered," I'm just so glad you took the time to know him, I know he seems like a complicated person to deal with. But once you get to know him he is the most beautiful soul you'll ever meet. And I'm just so happy, and I know he's happy as well because he absolutely loves karate; so if he ever invites you to these events then you're obviously very special to him" She laughed

I could tell there was sadness in her eyes, and every time she looked at me they carried this hope that I wasn't just using him, hope that I actually wanted to be his friend and be there for him even if it meant being his only friend. And because of that, I was actually determined to do so.

"Wow" I chocked out, my heart becoming heavier with every word she said. It made me want to cry and jump onto Alistair telling him that I'll always be there for him, which was pretty weird," You really have a way with words" I sighed once I was sure I wasn't going to randomly cry.

"Oh really?" She went back to her excited self," Robert tells me that all the time. He says I should've been a poet, I write a few poems every now and again but I don't put much focus on it" She shrugged.

"Oh, What do you actually do if not writing poetry?" I asked curiously, suddenly intrigued.

"Me? I just do staging of events with most national and some international events. I mainly do music festivals such as Park life an-"

"Park life?" I perked up with obvious surprise in my voice," I love Park Life" I swooned. Okay, that was not intended.

"Alistair comes with me every year" She smiled," But he never has anyone to take with him, so maybe he can bring you along?" She said with a grin and I felt just as excited as she looked.

"He better!" I exclaimed.

"We get VIP, own section to sit at, all the food is free and so on" She informed me before taking a sip of her champagne.

"That's great. Thank you" I grinned.

"No, thank you"
