As the event began I didn't know what to think of it, I mean Alistair seems really fragile; why on earth would he love karate so much? It really doesn't look like something he'd ever be interested in. The milkshake tasted awesome, who knew you could do mixtures of strawberry and vanilla? Well, I certainly didn't.
"Ladies and gentlemen thank you for attending the Prestige karate tournament today with us, please keep quiet at all times during matches as noise will distract the participants. Thank you and enjoy yourselves" A voice boomed through speakers I wasn't even aware of.
I watched a few matches, surprised by how intense it really was compared to what I've seen on television. It looked super painful to be honest and I winced every time I watched someone get thrown onto their back.
"How are you able to watch this?" I pulled a face and turned towards Margaret.
"Oh, I know what you mean. Even though it's been over a decade I'm still not used to it. He's had so many injuries, I don't know why he puts himself through it" She shook her head," But it's the one thing that keeps him happy, so that's all that matters. Its nice to see him smile after a tournament, its a real smile" She said with a fond look on her face.
"Well, I guess if that's what keeps him happy." I shrugged in agreement.
"We are now moving on to the under 16 age category of the tournament. Representative from Kwan Tai karate center, Rynas Eames" The voice boomed as a rather buff tall guy appeared onto the stage with a brown belt around his shirt, he looked shit scary.
"What level is brown belt?" I asked in curiosity
"It's rather high actually, I think just below black belt" Margate replied sipping her champagne.
"And representative from Florence academy, Alistair Karrignton" The voice boomed again and a skinny, fragile Alistair with a rather murderous look on his face, it was weird.
They stood in front of each other they bowed down with their hands pressed together before the buff guy punched Alistair, but he was quick to react and blocked his attacks until he got kicked on the side of the stomach, he grunted in pain but fought back with a blast in the stomach to the buff guy.
I had to admit it was really raised my anxiety watching this.
I didn't pay much attention as I was too indulged in my third milkshake when I suddenly heard a screech coming from the buff guy, when I looked up I saw Alistair take the hand that was about to hit his face and twisted the arm until his opponent somehow did a front flip causing him to land on his back with a thud. Alistair still kept his hand in his grip and kneed him in the stomach, showing no emotion on his face; the same face I saw when he knocked me out with the simple press of a nerve and that gave me the chills.
Then the referee declared Alistair to be the winner, I didn't watch the whole match because it went on for half an hour; which is pretty impressive. As far as could tell he just got a busted lip and a bleeding nose, he turned around and wiped his nose with his handkerchief before smiling and waving at me. It kind of made me feel nice and I awkwardly waved back.
He was a hell of a lot stronger than he looked.
---------------
"Thank you for um, you know. Attending my tournament, I've never had anyone attend them besides my parents. It kind of felt nice to see you there" He smiled, a real genuine smile; and it kind of made me smile too.
"Its cool" I smiled," I'm actually glad I came. The milkshakes here are the bomb" And then he started grinning and the weirdest emotion burst in my stomach and I grinned back at him. We were sitting at the top of the seats while the building started becoming empty drinking milkshakes, because you know, they taste awesome. Alistair had a bit of bruised nose but he was actually pretty good.
"Are you doing anything next weekend? You know, since shool is closed" He asked giving me that same hopeful look.
"What were you thinking of getting up to?" I sighed, not bothering to answer the question he asked.
"Well, my mother told me that she mentioned Park Life to you. Would you like to go with me?" He asked eagerly as he took of his robe for karate to change into a more comfortable shirt. Even though he's pale and skinny, the intensity and visibility of his muscles definitely made up for it. I've never felt so pervy nor fat in front of a guy my whole life, but I just couldn't stop staring at his abs.
I think I need to start doing karate as well.
"Yeah" I smiled as I stared at his back while he got changed, I never knew a back could look so nice," Sounds great"
"Great" He turned around once his shirt was on and searched in his bag to put his thick, black rayband glasses on again," Do you want me to show you around?" He pushed his glasses up as he gestured to the building.
"Uh, yeah sure. Why not" I agreed as I stood up and followed him around. To be honest it was built in architecture of a Greek empire. The halls were represented as tunnels with arches on the left on side giving you an all round of view of the platform when walking through," Damn, this mindblowing bro" I commented as we walked onto the middle of the platform and we stared at the sunroof above us together.
"I want to show you something" He straightened his back as if he just remembered something," follow me" He said as he began running of the platform.
"Dude, wait!" I shouted as I followed him but he refused to slow down, he ran back into the hallways and opened a door with a staircase leading somewhere above us. Alistair wasted no time waiting for me and ran up the stairs with such speed, I was surprised that he was so fast; I was expecting him to be exhausted because I definitely was. I didn't know how long the stairs were but when I finally reached the end my legs nearly collapsed," Dude what the hell? You could've at le-" my sentenced was lost when I looked at the view in front of us"
"Shit" I exclaimed as I neared Alistair. It took me a minute to realize we were standing on the sunroof, the sun was setting was just beginning to set as a shadow of light orange climbed down on the city in our view. The wind breezing through giving me goose bumps along my skin, and suddenly I didn't feel so exhausted anymore.
"Sit with me" Alistair suggested as he pushed his glasses back up as he settled himself onto the glass and laid back on his elbows, I followed suit and sat next to him and pulled my legs towards my chest and resting my head on my arms.
"This is pretty cool" I smirked and watched the sun go down.
"Indeed" He smiled and looked at me.
As we carried on conversing about random stuff I found out that Alistair plays guitar and piano, his parents own a branch of Mugg and bean and have four holiday houses. It was then that I decided that I like having him around, and I would keep him to myself. He's like one of those games that everybody thinks is retarded and boring until they actually play it and it turns out to be pretty awesome but you don't want anyone to find out about it because then everybody's going to want to play it.
He could be my discovery with all these talents and pretty cool perks, my friend that no one knows how awesome he is. As selfish as it sounds I don't think Alistair himself would mind if he was all mine.
Not in a gay way, just in terms of hanging out with other people.
Nothing really gay about it.
Not that three's anything wrong with being gay......
