Ladies and Gentlemen, before our Games officially begin, there's one more matter that we have to discuss with you.
Upon turning in your character sheets, your knight and yourself make a promise to the Royal Court of Lemaria. You swear, upon your life, that you will protect and uphold not only the honor of the Royal Family, but also their lives. Your knight gives us their word that throughout the competition, they will honor that pledge and never harm a member or the Royal Family or wish them any sort of ill will. My Lords, my Ladies, my distinguished guests...
Some of you have lied.
On top of everything else we're throwing at you, there's another trick up our sleeves. Someone among you is a traitor to the crown. They have been sent to not just win the competition, but assassinate the Royal Family. You will be aware of who you are, because we will contact you. If you do not receive this message from us, before the games begin, your knight is loyal. Congratulations.
Knights, on top of the entries you will be writing it is also your duty to sniff out the rat. The Traitor will be instructed to, under no circumstances, reveal themselves until it is time. It could be your strongest ally. It could be an underdog nobody thinks will survive the first round. It may even be you. Throughout the tasks we will be giving a series of clues that will eventually point you in the direction of the Traitor.
Some of you may be dismissing this already, ignoring it as just an extra part of the Game you don't have to compete in. So let me make it worth your while.

The Traitor's Skills:
♛ The Traitor will have bribed several of the Tournament judges, and given the right to make any task more difficult for any knight at any time.
♛The Traitor will have broken into the King's study, and therefore receive inside knowledge on every task before it is posted, and may on occasion have up to three extra days to work on their task before it is even posted to the public.
♛The Traitor also will have access to records in the Castle of Lemaria, giving them the ability to see everyone you ballot and potentially hold that information against you.
♛ ♛ ♛ ♛ ♛ ♛ ♛But even by elimination, you are not safe.
If, by some means, The Traitor is eliminated, they will still retain their ability to know and see everything, until the semi-finals. They can add challenges, give rewards, and make a mess of everything.
♛ ♛ ♛ ♛ ♛ ♛ ♛
The Spy
The Spy is another character in the Games that works for the Traitor. You will not have the option to reveal them, however they will report everything they see and hear to the Traitor. Choose your friends wisely.
The Spy's Abilities
The Spy is not as strong as the Traitor, however they will be able to request information from the judges about their character. They will know everyone who ballots them.
The Spy can also choose to make the Games more challenging for three people of their choosing at any point in the Games.
♛ ♛ ♛ ♛ ♛ ♛ ♛
YOU WILL HAVE THREE CHANCES THROUGHOUT THE GAME TO NAME THE TRAITOR. NAME THEM, AND YOU WILL HAVE THE OPTION OF KEEPING ONE OF THEIR BENEFITS.
♛ Is it going to be difficult on you? Probably.
♛ Does it give someone among you an advantage? Maybe.
♛ Don't sponsorships work the same way? Yes.
However, my dear knights, there is a catch. You have ONLY until the semi-finals to find the traitor. If they are not caught by that point, then someone in the Royal Family will be dead. Then, and only then, will The Traitor be revealed.
But, since we're not completely heartless, here is your first clue:
When one became two, two was three.
When two added four, four was three.
When one added five, five was four.
Five is The Traitor.
