Character Name: Willow Alden

Gender: Female

Age: Nineteen

Birthplace: Belmoor

Physical Appearance: At just over 6 foot 3 Willow is of average height for the people of her birthplace. Her whole appearance gives her an air of innocence. Her grey eyes contrast her pale skin and her pink lips are almost always turned up into a smile. A button nose and two thin eyebrows complete the make-up of Willow's face. Her eyebrows are the colour of hot chocolate. The same colour as her mane of hair which falls to just below her shoulders.

Personality: Living high up in the trees of Belmoor is the perfect place for Willow who loves being up high. She loves how free the wind as it passes through the trees. That's why she became a knight, so she would be free to travel all over the world. She wants to learn everything about everywhere and the only way she thinks she can do that is to travel to new places.

Her thirst for knowledge is more than a passion; it's her lifelong quest to know everything about Elusia. The quest has taken over her life sending her half-crazed. She rarely gets a full night's sleep preferring to stay up until the early hours of the morning to study her books. Almost everything she says ends in a question. In the future Willow wants to produce a series of books bringing together all of her knowledge into accessible tomes. She plans to call these books, the books of everything. When nervous Willow has a tendency to spurt out random pieces of information which often confuses the people around her.

Past: Willow is the only daughter of a humble shopkeeper and his wife. She has two brothers, Ash and Leif. Leif, her older brother is currently an assistant at the Great Library. Ash, her twin is studying to become a scientist. The family have always been close and use to spend any spare time together. These days the family have been drifting apart and Willow rarely sees them anymore.

A year ago, a knight visited her father's shop boasting of tales of unique and unusual things. Willow followed the knight everywhere he went so she could never miss a word he had to say. When he left Belmoor she decided that she wanted to become a knight so she could see and experience what the knight had told her about. As well as learn new things. Sir Eli, the travelling knight, is now one of her closest friends.

When Willow learn about the trials from her friend she decided that she too wanted to partake in the trials. That way she could learn everything that she could about the trials and the Knights that entered.

Skills: Willow rather enjoys writing and has amazingly neat handwriting. She has a talent for poems not that she likes to boast.

Strengths: Willow can draw upon her large amount of knowledge in a heartbeat. If faced with a battle of wit, Willow would win hands down.

Weaknesses: Willow has never used a sword in her life and has only on occasion used a bow. When she has used a bow her aim has been so terrible that her arrow ended up in completely the opposite direction that she wanted it to go in. She is also very inquisitive which will lead to her downfall as she likes to stick her nose into everything.

COMMENTS FROM THE ROYAL COURT:

King Artheur: Any citizen of my kingdom willing to leave their home and come all this way is already a knight in my eyes. You will go far, child.

Queen Melinda: You cannot use a bow, a sword, and you look like a scrawny rat. A pathetic little girl, mm? Prove yourself if you wish to serve on my guard line.

Roland Delmere: I like you girl, and I don't say that often. Still, I wonder. For one who likes to live so high, how will you fare when forced to crawl in the dirt?

Sir Thomas: I've always loved a girl who could read a book as quick as she could draw a sword. Don't worry, lass, you've got the skill to do both.

Sir Adeline: What a beautiful girl! Oh, I'm excited to see you. I have high hopes for one who wishes to learn. If you hold half that enthusiasm for sword play and jousting I think you'll go far.
