|Angel (Angela)|

"Do you think my uhm, I guess I'll start calling her Amy? That sounds so bizarre. Do you think she knew what my real name was before she named me Angela? It seems really stupid to kidnap someone and not name them something the opposite of their actual name." I ask Alex. We're still sat on her bed a few hours later, watching reruns of How I Met Your Mother.

"I'm not sure, did she ever say why she named you Angela? Maybe she named you after someone special to her." She answers.

"Whenever I asked, she said it was because I was her 'little Angel'."

"Maybe she really didn't know then." Alex says, tossing popcorn in her mouth.

I never got to properly check on my video from the other day, so I pull my laptop out of my bag to see if anyone had commented on it.

"I still think you should do a video of you covering a song and post it to YouTube."

"As if." I scoff, this not being the first time Alex has made the suggestion.

"Oh come on, you've got a pretty voice. Not Adele material but still extremely pleasant to listen to."

"Thanks?" I resist the urge to laugh. Whenever she suggest I post videos of myself singing, I find it funny that she hasn't noticed that I'm already doing it.

"It could be a way to get some emotions out, you haven't really reacted much." I gape at Alex. "Okay, so you cried a bit when you first started figuring it out. But I can tell it hasn't fully hit you. You could get some emotion into your voice, use it to your benefit." She suggests, and I have to admit that it's a pretty solid idea.

"Alright I'll sing, and I'll record the audio, but I'm not posting it." I chuckle, biting my lip.

"Yes!" Alex shouts, causing me to fall off the bed since I definitely wasn't expecting the outburst. "Oops." She starts laughing hysterically.

I sit up, blowing my hair out of my face and shooting her a look.

"I'll go get my camera and my dads old guitar!" Alex yells before running out of her room and down the hall. I shake my head as I open up Twitter on my phone to compose a new tweet for the twitter I made for my youtube persona, "About to record the audio for a new video, preview to come soon! Xx"

—————————————————

20 minutes of screwing up the intro on the guitar and starting the recording over, and another 3 hours of editing, and I've finished my audio recording of myself singing Vesper's Goodbye by Nick Jonas and the Administration. It's a bit of a throwback but the emotions I felt when I first listened to it really stuck with me so I couldn't think of a better song to sing. Plus I had already taught myself to play it on the guitar so it was an obvious choice for a last minute video.

"Alright, all done."

"I really do think that the people of the world would love to hear it but it's up to you. I'll listen to it later, now hush this is my favorite episode." Alex speaks fast and returns her attention to the tv.

"Feeling the love." I mutter.

I hop off the couch and join her in sitting on the floor in the livingroom, we came down here after getting tired of being in her room. Plus the living room in her house has a big wall mounted TV. We're on the episode where Ted meets some blonde woman trying to prevent his company from tearing down an old building.

"This is your favorite episode?" I ask.

"Yeah, she's awesome!" Alex says of the blonde.

"She's sort of crazy later on though." I mutter.

"Oh please, she's passionate!" Alex defends, I just shrug and continue watching it.

"Whatever you say, love."

Towards the end of the episode her dad comes downstairs and hands me a sticky note with a name and number on it, then walks into the kitchen.

"Do you girls want me to cook something or order pizza? I presume Angela won't be going to school tomorrow, you really should though Alex." He shouts from the other room.

"Cmon dad, my best friend is in distress!" She begs.

"Alexandra," he says in a warning tone.

"Fine alright, I'll go." She drags out in disappointment, adding: "And also I vote for pizza."

"A few hours away from her won't kill either of you. How about you Angela?"

"I'd like pizza too, thank you sir."

"Alright, I'll go order it. Pepperoni okay?"

We both yell our approvals since he's about to leave. When he leaves the house, Alex turns to me.

"So, when are you gonna contact someone about it?"

"I don't know. Part of me wants to pretend I never found out and just continue my life the way it was, but I've got another family out there that may still hold hope that I'm coming home some day. I don't want to delay it for them you know? I have to face my demons for once instead of running." She nods somberly.

"We're still gonna be friends right?" She takes her bottom lip into her teeth.

"Of course, I could never not be your friend Al." I engulf her in a hug and fight the urge to cry. "It's only 4pm, that means it's like 6am there, maybe I'll just call now and get it over with." I release Alex and look to the paper with the unfamiliar name on it, realizing it's not the one that was on the tv all those years ago. I take my iPhone out and recite the number as I dial it, Alex signaling me to put it on speaker as I do. I press the speaker button, someone answering the call soon after.

"Hello, Dr. King's office, how may I help you?"

"Hi, this is Angela Jewell. Mr. Jameson gave me your number to call about a missing person."

"Oh, of course. He sent me an email about it, what missing person is this regarding?"

"Angel... Irwin." I reply, my real name feeling slightly foreign to me.

"Oh." She seems taken aback by this information.

"Is something wrong ma'am?"

"No, it's just she's been missing for-" The woman pauses to think, but I beat her to it.

"About 18 years and 10 months, yeah."

"So you're familiar with the case?" She asks, slightly amused.

"I looked some stuff up after a project we did at school."

"School? How old are you?"

"About 18 years and 10 months, ma'am." I hear a slight gasp from the other end.

AN: Thanks again for reading! Hold steady if you're here for Ash, it won't be too long before they meet!
If any of you would like a different point of view let me know! I'd like to do the whole story in hers but once the book is completed I wouldn't mind going back and doing a bonus chapter from Ash's or anyone else's point of view. We've got a ways to go before it's over though, hang tight!
