"Hello, Dr. King's office, how may I help you?"

"Hi, this is Angela Jewell. Mr. Jameson gave me your number to call about a missing person."

"Oh, of course. He sent me an email about it, what missing person is this regarding?"

"Angel... Irwin." I reply, my real name feeling slightly foreign to me.

"Oh." She seems taken aback by this information.

"Is something wrong ma'am?"

"No, it's just she's been missing for-" The woman pauses to think, but I beat her to it.

"About 18 years and 10 months, yeah."

"So you're familiar with the case?" She asks, slightly amused.

"I looked some stuff up after a project we did at school."

"School? How old are you?"

"About 18 years and 10 months, ma'am." I hear a slight gasp from the other end.

"I'll put you through to Charlotte then, can you hold on just a sec while the call transfers? Call back if the call drops okay sweetie?" She says, as if she's afraid of me running away from her.

"Yeah, will do." Alex merely gives me a reassuring smile and sets her hand on my right knee, me sitting with legs crossed, holding the phone between us on speaker. Music was only heard for a mere 2 seconds before we heard a vaguely familiar southern accent.

"Hello, Chief King speaking. I've been told you have some news on a rather old case, is that right?" I nodded before realizing she couldn't see me.

"Yes, that's right." A few seconds pass before I hear her sigh.

"Well, you gonna tell me or not darlin'? I don't have all day, I'm a very busy woman."

"Right, sorry. It's about the..." I look to Alex as I trail off, beginning to panic. She nudges me, raising her brows as if to tell me to keep talking. "It's about the Irwin case."

"Irwin case?"

"Yeah, uhm... Angel Irwin." I hear a shuffling of papers on the other end.

"What is it you have? Do you have a lead?"

"A lead?"

"Yes, a lead. Information that could help us find her."

"I think so, but can I- can I ask you something first?" I ask warily, she sighs in response.

"I suppose I could answer a question for ya, just wish I knew you weren't lyin' to me first."

"Do people usually call just to lie to you?" I ask.

"Sometimes, especially with this case lately. Seems the victims twin brother has gotten himself into the spotlight recently. Sometimes I get girls calling in pretending to know something to see if it's a fake case for publicity or trying to meet him."
