Whispering by Alex Clare

Okay so now that I'm officially back to updating on a regular basis, this story only has a few chapters left.

I'm considering writing another werewolf story BUT I really want to take a shot at a romance novel. When I first started writing, it was because I was a huge romance fan and wanted to write one.

Anyways, I haven't made up my mind yet, so let me know your opinions :)

Enjoy!

"LANDYN!" My screams echoed through the woods.

My heart was beating so fast. I couldn't tell if he was dead or alive. I limped to each dead male body and checked, praying that I wouldn't find him dead.

"Jensen," I yell. "Everybody, check the bodies for Alpha Landyn Westmen."

"LeeAna-"

"Now!" I scream at Ben and continue my search, calling out Landyn's name every now and then.

I eventually took off my breastplate, leaving me in a black long sleeve shirt. My ribs would take at least a day to heal, but they were hurting so bad.

Half an hour later, all bodies were flipped onto their backs and none of them were Landyn. I was hyperventilating, my breathing so erratic that my lungs and ribs almost couldn't handle it. He couldn't be dead... he's Landyn Westmen, one of the strongest Alpha's.

I slump against a tree in pain. Jensen rushes over and grabs my elbow.

"You need to take deep breaths, LeeAna. We'll find him don't worry," Jensen says.

I don't take what he's saying into account, only look up to find Elaine and the Coven leaders staring at me.

"You," I motion towards them, "you can find him, you can help."

"We've already helped you enough," Edon says with narrowed eyes.

She was right, but I growl at her anyways.

"Luna," I hear someone yelling. I could already tell it was someone from Landyn's pack. A black haired guy, maybe a year younger than me, runs up with wide brown eyes.

"I saw a few Lycan's running west towards the stream. They were chasing something," he pants. "I'm sorry, I didn't think about it sooner-"

"Take me there," I demand. He nods and rushes past me while Jensen, Ben and I follow suit. We call out Landyn's name a few times before reaching the flowing stream.

Ben walks down a ways and shouts, "I don't see him."

"Luna," the boy yells, and I immediately rush towards him. He's standing there looking down with a small frown. My eyes hit the floor, and find blood. A lot of blood. More than 5 pints of blood were here which means whoever this came from is already dead.

"Its Lycan blood for sure," Ben mutters. "Not sure if its Landyn's though."

"We're not bonded anymore, so neither can I." I look at the guy from his pack in question. His eyes widen, and he bends down a little, sniffing.

He shakes his head. "I'm sorry, I never got close enough to recognize Alpha Landyn's scent. I don't feel anything through the pack bond, but I'm not sure if that's good or bad."

"The bloods cold, so whatever scent was there is gone now," Jensen says.

My hands tug on my braid as my eyes desperately scan the woods. Two hands land on my shoulders, but I shrug them off and begin limping down to the stream. A hand grabs my elbow, and I jerk it off.
