I felt relieved. I could leave, I didn't have to be around Tasha and Dimitri any longer. I didn't have to watch as he treated her like he used to treat me. I didn't have to watch as the Belikova's visited, I didn't have to endure any awkward conversations about why me and Dimitri aren't together even though I saved his life.

We were free!

My only condition was that i kept in touch with Lissa, which wasn't really a condition because obviously I would. Lissa was like my sister of course I would still speak to her. Elena had come to love her as an aunt so I couldn't just separate them.

Elena had a day left in the infirmary and today also happened to be the day that the Belikovas arrive. I planned to avoid them as best as I could without it looking like I was doing it on purpose. I just planned to spend the day with Elena like I normally would.

I could feel in Lissas head that they had arrived as she was with Christian who was with his aunt and Dimitri. The Belikovas still looked the same, all except Yeva. Since I had left Yeva had aged a lot. She looked warn and frail. I felt bad that I didn't say goodbye when I left and I knew that I had connected with Elena like she was my own mother. Me and Viktoria hadn't left on good terms but I didn't regret what happened, I had saved her from ending up like her elder sister.

After a small reunion between Dimitri and his family they started walking to where they were staying. I could tell that this was the first time that Dimitri had seen his family since he had transformed back into a Dhampir and it angered me that it had taken so long for them to reunite. They had all been devastated when I told them what had happened to him and I was ashamed at him for not telling them the truth.

Yeva seemed to be hostile towards Tasha and Lissa noticed this before anyone else, probably because she read her aura. She felt angered and hurt. Hurt I wasn't the one welcoming them by Dimitris side, that makes two of us. She may be crazy but she had grown on me while I was in Russia, I would never admit it to her but she had become almost like my grandmother while I was there.

Before they left to go inside Olena asked if she could speak to Lissa in private, Lissa contemplated kicking me out of her head incase what Olena had told her was too personal but figured I would want to hear it. It turned out I was the subject for the conversation.

"Vasilisa, where is dear Rose? Why does Natasha stand by my son instead of Rose?" She didn't no what to say so i helped her out a bit, sending her what to say through the now two way bond

"They didn't work out." My answer was short and simple. But I was sure it would make Olena question Dimitri about it, and some evil part of me wanted him to know that his family was at a loss because he was with Tasha.

"It's such a shame. She gave up so much for him. He's a fool." Both me and Lissa were shocked, neither of us expected Olena to be so honest about how she felt about the situation.
