For years I cried

Chapter 19

"Why would Adrian do that?" I asked.

"He loves Rose, I didn't no how much but if I'm right. It sounds like he'd do anything to get her." It made sense, I saw how much he liked her when we went away to the ski lodge, I kept finding them together. Whenever he saw me he would do something to try and make me jealous. I never told Rose but when i first returned from becoming a strigoi, i ran into him. He made a snide comment about being with Rose and i flipped, i held him by the collar like i did that night with Jesse. 

Adrian had the same reaction as Jesse had as well, he was terrified, shortly after he left. I have no idea if it was because of me or not but he left court and didn't come back. Is it possible that he was behind this? Was he helping Tasha? 

"How do we find out for sure?" I asked. She shook her head

"I think you need to concentrate on getting Rose to believe you, then she will want to know whats going on. You know how she is?" A sudden thought crossed my mind that dulled my thoughts.

"what about Elena? Will she forgive me?" Lissa scoffed

"The big bad Dimitri Belikov is scared that a four year old wont like him!" she laughed and then her face went serious "Of course she will, your her dad. And no matter what has happened your a great person, before you left i would have said you were perfect for Rose, but things ave changed. You have a lot of making up to do." I knew Lissa was right

"I didn't choose to leave, it was compulsion. Like the lust spell."Lisa turned to look at me and i returned the gesture as much as i could while driving

"And like the lust spell this compulsion didn't create new feelings. You must have had the thought in your head that you wanted to leave Rose. Even if they were the smallest of thing, they were already there to begin with." I thought about it for a second. Did i want to leave Rose? Was leaving my decision?

No. I didn't want to leave Rose, i had decided that before the compulsion. I had said some very hurtful words to her and i regretted them completely. The only doubt in my mind was that i was holding her back.

"Could they have acted on the thought that i was holding her back? I didn't want to leave her but i didn't want to stand in the of her having the future she deserves."

"Maybe." She replied.
