I told Lissa I would be back shortly so we could finish our conversation, to be honest I was quite intrigued by what she had to tell me, it sounded important.

When I reached the nursery I found Elena in the teachers office with her coat and bag next to her, I had only seen her ill twice before but never had I seen her so pale. Elena had inherited my tan skin colour so her now Moroi white face was harsh against my eyes.

I quickly scooped her up with one arm and hooked her bag and coat around my other arm. "Looks like someone is having a bed day today, missy." She rested her head against my shoulder and closed her eyes

"I'm sorry mommy." She whispered. Her voice was weak and painful to my ears, I hated knowing that she was ill and I couldn't do anything.

I softly kissed her forehead and wiped her forehead where a thin layer of sweat had formed which was probably caused by the fever she had. "You have nothing to apologise for." I signed her out of nursery and walked back to my apartment with her In my arms.

I decided that she would sleep in the spare room at Lissas for the day, that way I could still meet the new guardian and look after my baby girl at the same time.

By the time I had called Lissa to see if it was alright and collected all the things Elena would need to go to Lissas with, it had already been almost two hours since I left Lissas apartment.

I changed Elena into her pyjamas so she would be comfy and carried her to Lissas with her special blanket that she couldn't sleep without, I also brought some medicine and some of her books so she wouldn't be bored.

As soon as I opened Lissas door she was flapping around us to see if she could do anything to make Elena feel better, she must of asked to heal her 10 times by the time we reached the bedroom. I told her no every time, I didn't want Lissa risking her mental state when Elena was just Ill.

Elena curled up in a ball and fell to sleep straight away, I kissed her forehead and closed the door behind me.

"Are you sure you don't want me to do anything for her?" I shook my head again.

"Liss, it's fine. Anyway the new guardian will be here soon." Lissa visibly paled as I mentioned the new guardian, through the bond I could tell she was hiding something but as I reached my mind out to grab it she snatched it back and put up her block "what are you hiding from me Liss?" As she was about to answer there was a knock at the door

"That's going to be the new guardian Rose, when I open the door please don't be mad at me. I'm so sorry but I really tried to tell you earlier but you had to go. I'm so sorry Rose." What was she going on about?

I walked over to the door and opened it to reveal the person I thought I would never have to see again.

Dimitri.
