It was quite some time before they could even get near Dualscar,The Handmaid had to sneak up behind him with a tranquilizer in order for them to move him into the tank. Eridan watched his father sink down into the water. He poked at his face until those same piercing violet eyes met his own. He couldn't say anything,his jaw remained slightly agape as he tried to muster proper words. "I-I hi dad?" He looked slightly afraid as if he didn't remember him. "Cronus?" He whispered groggily. "No,it's me! Eridan!" "Eridan?" Eridan looked rather worried at this point,maybe if he saw Cronus again. Just then Cro swam by in front of him. "Hey chief,your lookin' better."
Dualscar's eyes snapped open when he heard his voice,he didn't hesitate to hug him. "What happened?" Was all he could say. "Uh-vwe got rescued." He strained to gasp out under his fathers grip. "Oh! Dad!" He said pulling away. "Look at vwho vwe found!" He gestured to Eridan by placing both hands on his shoulders. Dualscar was in pure and utter shock,the memories that were once scattered fragments of the past began to piece themselves together,the memories of the last time he'd held his youngest. "But that's impossible,I watched you get swept away by the current." Eridan smiled and chuckled softly. "You can't get rid of me that easily." Then Dualscar broke out in a heap of tears as one of the biggest smiles either of them had ever seen cross his lips. "MY BOYS!" He hugged them both.

He let go,looking at them. "Wait,are there any others?" Dualscar looked serious. "Other wwhat?" "Other mertrolls?" "Just one besides us." "Who?" "Wwell her name is Feferi." Dualscar was smiling like a child on Christmas. "Oh Cronus this just keeps on getting better!" Eridan was so confused. "Wwhat do you mean by that?" "We get to be a family again and mor importantly your betrothed is here lad!" That word. Betrothed. Betrothed. Betrothed. "And please tell me your already matesprits?" Dualscar looked happier than he'd ever been in his life and for Eridan to say he was with a human was technically digging his grave. "B-Betrothed?" "Yes,son where you not aware she was chosen to be your matesprit?" "But don't I get a say in this?" Eridan looked rather hesitant to say that incase the stench of attitude lingered. "What do you mean? This is the way it's been for thousands of years! We've talked about this before!" Cronus looked rather nervous as well seeing as he knew I the relationship between Eridan and Sollux and he might as well dig himself a grave unless he starts acting like he doesn't know anything. "Yeah chief!" His voice was shooken from guilt. "Hey ED!" Eridan whipped around swiping his hands at him. "Shoo! Shdjebrkgirbsbdjfiwjneffffdsfffffsksieje!" He panicked. Sollux walked away slowly just going on with his work. "Okay then,mertroll2 are fine." He said checking something off his list. "Who was that?" "Uh-no one!"  Eridan whipped around trying to hide the lie. "Alright then,I should like to meet Feferi." "Uh-you can't right noww! She has to get her beauty sleep! And you should sleep to so bye dad!" He swam off as quickly as possible hiding under a small cave in the coral. "Hey chief?" "Wwhat?" "You comin' out anytime soon?" "Oh nah I think I'll stay in here for the rest of my life." Cronus sighed leaning on the coral. "Can't do that chief." "I knoww." "Vwell I'm going to sleep." "Wwhy? I wwas just kidding about beauty sleep." Cronus deadpanned. "To dig a hole vwith a spoon an livwe the rest of my days out as a lonely shepard vwhos named Maria." Eridan at him as if he were insane. Cronus sighed irritated and rolled his eyes rubbing the bridge of his nose. "I'm going to sleep because in tired Eridan." "Uhhhh." "Goodnight."
