Chapter 21 His Regret

Sollux woke up in his bed,his vision dazed and a migraine like no other. Suddenly he felt bile rise in his throat,he sat up and jumped out from underneath his blankets racing down the hall,rushing to the bathroom he vomited in the toilet. After a few minutes of spitting out that horrible sludge he sat hunched over the toilet bowl,a steady stream of bile going down his chin. He instantly regreted ever picking up a bottle of any kind if alcohol. "Ughhhh..." He groaned smelling he awful stench,giving out feeble attempts to stand. He flushed the toilet and went over to the sink standing in front of the mirror and happened to notice he'd been in nothing but boxers,grabbing his toothbrush he opened the toothpaste and squeezed the tube missing the bristles and smearing toothpaste on his hands. "Grrrr." He furrowed his brows adding more fruitless attempts until he finally managed to get some amount of toothpaste on the bristles. Brushing his teeth he left the bathroom and walked steadily back into his own room,rummaging through his closet for something to wear. His hangover wasn't as bad as he'd initially thought and he was feeling good enough to go into work today. "Maybe II can fiinally patch thiing2 up wiith ED,and maybe he won't hate me." He unhooked a yellow shirt with red and blue sleeves and slipped it over his bare chest,he grabbed a pair of jeans and slid those on as well. Snatching up his white coat he slid his a arms through the sleeves and straightened out the collar as well as the front. He unplugged his phone from its charger and shoved it in his pocket,grabbing his glasses he slipped them on pushing them up the bridge of his nose he walking out of his and his fathers apartment. Trudging down the stairs he got in his car and drove to work.

Eridan sat in his tank while Feferi cuddled him close. This had gone on for a little while,Eridan growing exceedingly uncomfortable by the minute. He had to admit,he'd missed the way Sollux would cuddle him in his soft white lab coat like a furry kitten,laying small kisses on his head every now and then. His sweet honey scent and warmth was always inviting and his hands were gentle as they rubbed softly against his cold bare skin. He missed that. He missed those heartfelt moments with his real matesprit that he had real feelings for,and everything with Feferi was just fake. He felt the sudden regret and guilt eating away at him,he had shoved his Sollux away all because of his needs for his fathers approval and affections. He didn't want Feferi here. He didn't want fake love. She didn't deserve Sollux's spot as his matesprit. Eridan wanted Sollux to be there holding him whispering sweet nothings into his ear like he once did,pressing his warm body up against his own. Sollux's touch now became a deeply needed desire of his. Eridan tried snuggling into Feferi's mane in attempt to recreate the feeling but nothing changed,it was the same cold empty feeling like before. Feferi was fooled by his attempts and thought he was falling for her,a slight grin spread across her lips at the thought. She placed her hands on either side of his face turning his head to look at her,seeing her smiling he forced a fake smile onto his lips. She pulled him close enclosing their lips. Eridan was reluctant effortlessly kissing back thinking he could keep this optamistic act up and she'd never notice. Feferi slid a hand behind his neck pushing their lips closer together as she continued to kiss him. Eridan gently tried to pull away when her tail began to try and coil itself around his own. An amethyst colour rose to his cheeks as thoughts swarmed him. He didn't want to hurt her feelings by rejecting her affection considering he knew she trying to make him happy.
Her body heated up lightly grinding against his,she swiftly pulled away breathing vigorously moving toward his neck in a lustfilled blur,she bit down hard enough to draw blood that soon stained the water. "Fef!-mmf!!!" He grunted agrrivatedly. Hearing his protests she quickly shut him up with a forceful kiss. Trying to push him down in order to straddle him,he quickly pushed her away harshly. "Feferi!" He screeched her name. This made her stop immediately. He hardly ever used her full name. "I-I'm sorry." She said softly,panting inbetween her words. Her cheeks covered in a bright fushia. "I'm sorry." She whispered,her lips quivered. Eridan was taken back by this. He swam over gently pulling her into a hug. "It's alright...just sloww dowwn and...wwhy'd you bite me?" Feferi's eyes widened as she stared up at him. "I didn't mean to." She was speaking more quietly than normal,it made her sound so pathetic strengthening his urge to suffocate her with hugs and apologies.

Eridan sighed as they floated back down in the water sitting in the sand,he continued to pet her hair softly. "Wwhy don't wwe just cuddle for noww?" "Okay." Her response was short and simple as she curled herself into his chest. Eridan sighed leaning his head back in complete and utter relief. 'This is not gonna be easy.'
