6.18.16 | 14 Days.
Today Harry and I had planned to get waffles like he promised me a few days ago. I had informed him earlier that I was going to be with the boys, because we had some important details to discuss, aka his bachelor party, but I would be free around five. However, he hasn't texted me to follow up on our plans yet. It was now nearing seven o'clock, and the day was slipping away from us.
I didn't blame him though. He had a wedding approaching quickly, I'm sure I would be very busy too.
That was my problem though: I never blamed Harry.
My phone buzzed in my back pocket. My heart sparked and I smiled when I saw Harry's name light up on my phone.
Harry- Hi Emmie x.
Me- Hello Styles! I'm glad you texted me, I have a question: did it hurt?
Harry- What?
Me- When you fell from heaven?
Harry- lol very funny em..
Me- Because it looks like you landed on your face.
Harry- you are such an arse..
Me- I know you are but what am I?
Harry- shut up. Come on, I'm hungry and in desperate need of waffles.
I didn't reply, but instead quickly slid my shoes on. I grabbed my purse and told my mom I would be back later. Then climbed into Harry's car in the matter of fifteen seconds, maybe less.
Harry greeted me with a peace sign and I simply smiled as we drove off.
"I'm sorry I couldn't do this earlier," he said as he began driving, "I've just been really busy lately."
"It's alright Harry, I completely understand." I waved it off.
"But I wanted to keep my promise with you, about getting waffles." He continued, "It means a lot to me that Violet and you are becoming kind of like friends, and I really appreciate you trying."
"Of course," I nodded and then glanced at his cast. "How's your wrist feeling?"
"It's better," he informed me, "The doctor said it should be off before the wedding because it was such a tiny fracture."
"That's wonderful news!" I grinned glancing up at him.
"I just can't remember exactly why I decided to punch a wall." He chuckled shaking his head.
"Oh really?" I inquired.
"Yeah, it's all kind of blur." He added pulling into a parking sport.
I inhaled leaning back into the seat of the car. He evidently doesn't remember what Violet had said to him a few days ago. I wasn't exactly sure if I should be thankful or upset about that.
I unbuckled my seat belt and followed Harry out of the car and into the restaurant.
We got a table for two and waited to be served.
As a result of me easily being bored I grabbed my straw and unwrapped the top half of the wrapping. I put the part that was still wrapped away from my mouth.
"Hey Harry," I whispered causing him to look up from the menu.
"Hm?" He said quietly.
I blew air into the straw and let the paper fly into his face.
His eyes, mouth, and nose scrunched together and I let out a giggle.
"You are such a child." He rolled his eyes at me.
I shrugged my shoulders innocently and turned my head a few times letting my ponytail sway back and forth.
"Are you two ready to order?" The woman asked standing next to our table.
"We'll both have the chocolate chip waffles, please." Harry ordered handing the menus to the waitress who gave us a confused look before leaving us.
"What was that look for?" I whispered furrowing my eyebrows as I watched her walk away.
"Some people don't eat waffles for every meal of the day," Harry shrugged and then took a sip of his water.
I gasped at his comment, "Why would anybody ever eat anything besides breakfast food?"
Harry swallowed and then stated very seriously, "Because people are idiots, Emmie."
"I'm sure we can find a better word to use than that, Harold." I shook my head sternly.
"That's not even my real name, Em," Harry chuckled.
I rolled my eyes, "So tell me, Harold, how does it feel being in an international boy band?" I asked changing the subject while we wait for our food.
"It's such an experience. Traveling around the world and seeing all these sites is really cool." He said with such happiness in his voice. I was so proud and happy that his wildest dreams came true.
"Do you want to know what else is cool?" I asked raising my eyebrows. I paused for effect and he nodded my head gesturing me to continue, "Graduating."
Harry sighed in annoyance as he rolled his eyes.
I give him a discreet wink leaning back into the booth cushion as I crossed my arms over my chest. Harry and I then have an intense stare off, both of us trying incredibly hard to stay seriously. He knew how good I was at staring contests...he had no chance.
Harry finally cracked as he chuckled lightly, "Fuck off, Em."
"Don't be rude." I pouted as the waitress placed the two plates of waffles in front of us.
We both said thank you and proceeded to eat.
"Hey can I ask you for a favor?" He asked smiling wide up at me.
I rolled my eyes dramatically, "What is it Harry?"
"Violet can't go to our dance rehearsal tomorrow for our first dance," he began explaining, "And I really need the practice. I'm bad, Em, like really bad."
"I don't find that surprising." I mumbled honestly.
"Do you think you can come rehearse with me tomorrow?"
"Harry I'm a horrid dancer! I practically have two left feet, why are you asking me?" I argued, "Ask Liam! That boy has better rhythm than I do!"
"I'm not going to ask Liam!" Harry exclaimed, "C'mon please? You barely have to do anything, just stand there and pretend like you know what you're doing."
I paused for a second, dreading the idea of having to dance.
"Sure," I muttered taking another bite of my waffle.
Knowing that I'll be spending more time with Harry and only Harry made me more willing to say yes.
