"Emmie!" I cringed as Violet screeched my name from across the street.
Her voice was so fake I couldn't help but roll my eyes before I turn around to see her walking toward me.
"Just who I wanted to run into." She smiled as the world gritted through her teeth.
"Hi Violet," I stated dully, my fake smile fading.
"I need to talk to you about something." She said simply crossing her arms.
"Alright," I nodded skeptically.
"Now, I know you and Harry are very good friends," she began and my stomach began to churn.
If she knew that I like him, she would probably slit my throat with her fake nails. I bit my inside cheek waiting for her to get to the point so my anxiety can decrease.
"And I only say this because I care about Harry and his future, but to be honest, you're holding him back."
"Excuse me?" I whispered in disbelief, furrowing my eyebrows.
"Think about it," Violet sighed, "You're going nowhere. I wouldn't be surprised if you worked at that crappy restaurant for the rest of your life."
My eyes grew wide as her words became more brutally honest.
"And Harry will make time for you but he needs to focus on his own future and success. Don't you care about that?" She inquired very condescendingly.
"Of course I do."
"Then I think it would be best if you stayed out of the picture." She nodded, "Just for a while."
I stood there in complete shock and felt my eyes water but I quickly blinked the tears away.
She turned on her heal before I could even comprehend what was happening. Thoughts were rambling in my mind and my blood was boiling with anger.
Stay out of the picture.
"Violet!" I shouted after her, and immediately cringed because at this moment I was going to fight back, and it was too late to run away.
It was fight or flight, and I had no choice now but to fight when I saw her turn around, her hair falling to one side of her shoulder. "I want an apology."
"What?" She gasped letting out a snicker, "For what Emily?" She asked mockingly, as if she were clueless to what I was talking about.
"You know what." I spat at her my whole body tense.
She began to walk closer and I felt weaker.
"I really don't Emily." She frowned shaking her head, "Do you mind reminding me of why you might need an apology from me?"
"I need an apology from all those years of bullying that you did during school." I demanded, "Give me an apology and I'll...I'll stay out of the picture for good."
"I'm sorry Emily...but I really don't know what you're talking about." She sighed, "EW...we didn't even talk in school."
My mouth dropped and I looked at her with an appalled expression. There was no way she could've forgotten. She was lying. But why would she lie about her being a bully towards me, when I know the truth. I was the one who got hurt the most in school, and she can't just decide that she didn't do anything wrong.
"Have a nice shift!" She smiled once again looking down at my uniform sarcastically. She waved goodbye, faking a sense of sincerity and I was left alone.
