My jaw dropped as I read the article that Rachael had sent me. My eyes narrowed in on the title:
Niall Horan and Mystery Girl seen leaving a pub in Ireland last weekend.
Attached was a picture of me clinging onto his arm, as he guides me through the stampede of paparazzi and flashing cameras.
I let out a loud shriek as I read the article and then chuck my phone across my bedroom.
This couldn't be happening, I thought as I gulped a few times trying to process the situation at hands.
After all these years, one would think that I was doing a great job staying away from the public's eye, being Harry's best friend and all. But of course, one simple picture could change everything.
I slowly crawled under my bed sheets and hide in a little ball, hoping it would all blow over, that it would all go away in the morning.
I stayed there, frozen from shock. My breathing was slow and steady, in hopes to prevent a potential panic attack.
My phone buzzed from the other side of my room, causing me to sit up abruptly.
I crawled to the edge of my bed, picking up my phone. I let out another scream. I wasn't really sure what to expect, but it definitely wasn't this.
My follower count went up by the thousands. The numerous mentions that were directed at me from Twitter sent my heart race soaring. My eyes popped wide open as I scrolled through the never-ending messages.
"What the hell?" I whispered reading a few of them.
They were quite hurtful. I thought the bullying would end after school did, but I guess I was wrong.
One specifically caught my eye: why would niall date some RANDO like her lol such a joke
I then got a text from Niall causing my heart to race.
Niall- Are you alright?
Me- I'm fine Niall.
Niall- I am so sorry that all this exploding, I'm trying my hardest to fix it. Harry should be there soon to make sure you're ok x.
I turned my phone off and quickly brought my knees to my chest. I felt my stomach dropping and my hands began to shake.
"Emmie!" I heard someone call from the living room of my flat.
I let out a cough to clear my throat.
"Hey Harry!" I tried to say cheerfully.
"Emily?" They called again, this time more concerned.
"In here." I yelled from under my blanket.
I heard the light switch flick on and a figure carefully pulled the blankets away, revealing my curled up body my eyes wide from the bright light on on iPad while I scrolled through tweets.
"Oh thank God," Harry said and pulled the tablet away from my glossy eyes.
"I didn't actually think you would come."
I knew he had stopped whatever he was doing, whether it was important or not, to come see if I was ok, which I was. I'm perfectly ok.
"Are you ok?" He asked sitting beside me.
