6.14.18 | 3 Hours.

I've always believed that the most important part of a wedding ceremony is the vow. It signifies more than a promise for each partner, it embodies the love they have for each other as a whole.

The vow holds the recognition that love finds its deepest fulfillment in a lifelong commitment, in giving oneself to another person without any conditions, or reservation. And they know that with that vow, that promise, it is a way of making that commitment.

Of course it's scary to think about because commitment is frightening. However, at the same time it attracts them.

The words of the wedding vows are so simple and so profound.

The personal promises they make to one another till death them part.

I've always loved the vows, the promises, and the love they give one another while watching a ceremony.

It has it's own unique beauty to it.

"Emily Rose Williams! Rise and shine, bitch! It's your wedding day!" A voice boomed through my room causing my eyes to open wide as I sat up quickly and alert.

"It is your wedding day, and I will not have my sister looking like a wreck at her own wedding." Elyse stated sternly, crossing her arms across her chest.

"Wakey wakey, soon to be Mrs. Styles! We have lots to do, so get that cute bum outta bed!" Gemma chirped happily as she enters my room and moves to my window to rip back the curtains, causing me to hiss and attempt to cover my eyes from the harsh light.

"I hate you." I mumbled into my pillow.

"Now, that's not the right attitude, missy! Come on, up, up, up, we've got breakfast waiting for you!" Elyse told me before pulling back the comforter and letting the cold in.

I groan before pulling myself up and glaring two of my bridesmaids before making my way down to the kitchen.

"There are waffles!" Elyse added causing me to walk faster down the steps.

"Here comes the bride!" Rachael sang cheerfully, wearing a chef hat as she placing the plate of food onto the table.

"There she is! How are you feeling?" My mom asked as she sits me down and pushes in my chair.

I let out a little yawn before smiling at them sleepily.

"To be honest, I feel just fine. " I replied honestly as I pick up my fork and shrugged my shoulders.

"Just fine?" Elyse blurted out, "You're getting married in 3 hours and you're 'just fine?'"

I just shrugged my shoulders and placed another forkful of waffles in my mouth.

"Oh I'm so excited!" My mom cheered, "We have lots to do! We've got hair, make-up, and getting you into that dress!"

"You know, it's frightening how excited you all are." I teased playfully before digging into my breakfast, excitement coiling in my stomach at the thought of today.

We make our way back in the bedroom and start to get ready. Elyse practically threw me down into my chair while Rachael got the hair and make up items out.

"Now close your eyes and stay still." Rachael instructed as she began priming my face.

I sat still the entire time as we all exchanged in small talk while getting ready.

Once we were done, everyone exited the room to change, and I was left alone with just my thoughts, my dress, and myself.

I was one to never believe in happily ever after, they didn't exist.
