(A/N- There will be part two for my oneshot "New kid" but I decided to be mean, a nice mean tho, and give you this one before part 2! Aren't I sweet! Haha, anyway I hope you like this one, its another modern day story. Oh and be warned now—I will put a warning up later too—but there is going to be BL in this. I will put a warning up, like always, so the ones who don't like to read it won't have to. Anyways, enjoy!)

When I walked into the office I was quite shocked to see someone familiar. It was an older gentleman, in his early twenties; he had long auburn hair that hovered just over his shoulders, bright green eyes, and a tall and lean body that looked strong. I knew this man. I knew this by the way his lips curled into an adorably crooked smile, and how the scar on his chin was still noticeable, and how his face was littered with freckles.
When he noticed me he couldn't help but smile; he knew me too.
I stepped fully into the room, closed the door, and went to take a seat in front of his desk. I raised my eyes to meet his. This was the same person who went to my school a few years back; he was the one who no one knew and no one saw. He was my first crush, he was my first dance at the prom, and he was my first kiss.
Once he graduated however, he moved away with his mother, never to be seen again. I stayed single since.
I smiled at him and placed my hands on my lap, trying to hide how happy and nervous I was. "So, Mr. Overland, I hear you would like a job here" I noticed how his eyes hid a small ounce of mischief as he smiled; he was up to something and if I knew him, it had to be something good. "That is correct" I nodded, swallowing so I could stop my dry throat from itching.
"Well, the only job open at the moment is the role of assistant" he informed me, placing his elbows on the desk and leaning forwards. "Okay, who's assistant would I be?" I wondered, trying to take in a steady breath. My heart only continued to thump wildly in my chest.
"Mine" he said deeply, his eyes gleaming happily as he stood up from his chair. "Now that will be all. If you would like the job; show up tomorrow morning at seven."
I nodded and slowly rose to my feet; I was internally shocked at how quick this meeting was, not only that, but I was even more surprised on how it was him who I was working for. "Okay, I will" I told him firmly, keeping my voice from skipping.
He squinted as he smiled, holding his hand out for me. I gulped and shook his hand, and just as I was about to let go, he pulled me close and placed his lips to mine. I froze in shock. The kiss was passionately brief, yet, it left me breathless all the same. His lips left mine and he let my hand go, taking his lead to the door I had entered.
"I will see you tomorrow then" he told me, making me turn to look at him with wide eyes. "Oh, and Jack?"
"Y-yeah Hiccup?"
"I really missed you" and with that, he left.

The next day I had walked into the office feeling nervous. I had no idea what to expect. The day started off well; if you call approaching your boss and at the same time your crush, who smiles at you warmly, and has no regrets from yesterday a good day. Over the first few weeks I started working as Hiccups' assistant, which in my mind never once occurred, he never kissed me again.
I had no idea why I was upset about it. He had probably did it just to see how it felt after so many years; he must have already moved on. He could have a wife and maybe even kids, though that didn't seem right. I did not see a ring on his finger, or any cliché pictures of a woman and child on his desk.
