Day 11: Secrets (Pt.2)

Leilani's Diary Entry: I couldn't believe what just happened. I just witnessed Odell getting locked up. I couldn't understand why. Why would he do some shit like that? Many questions came running in my mind. What if I was his next assault victim? I thought Odell was better than that, and for him not to tell me...that's wrong.

December 11, 2015

"Have Odell ever threatened you in any sorta way?" I shook my hand while I looked down and fiddled with my fingers.

"Miss, you're gonna have to speak. Your not 5, I don't expect you to keep shaking your head." I glared my eyes at the police officer.

"Now, how do you know Odell?" She asked me.

"We bumped into each other on December 1st. That's how I met him." I say.

"Can I go now?" The officer writes down in her notebook.

The officer glanced at me and closed the book. "Odell is a criminal. Your lucky I don't lock you up for hanging with him."

"Well I didn't know. I don't watch the news. He didn't tell me all of this." The officer sighed.

"About a year and a half ago, Odell raped a girl about your age. He raped her because she owed him money. Odell isn't as sweet as you think he may be. The girl he raped, is now in rehab. She was doing drugs to help her try and keep the image of her being raped out of her head. She gave away her baby boy, the second he was born because she knew that she couldn't take care of him."

Hearing all of this brought tears to my eyes. I knew exactly how she was feeling.
"I understand you might love Odell-" I shook my head.

"I don't know what love is anymore, and if I did...I definitely don't love him."

I grabbed my stuff and walked out the room. As I walked down the hallway I heard screaming.

"Please just let me go! I won't do it again." I walked passed the room to see Odell in handcuffs. "Leilani." He saw me and walked my way.

"Leave me alone." I said as I walked. "Leilani please just listen to me!" I didn't stop walking.

"I'm sorry!" He yelled and I turned around to face him.

"Sorry? Odell do you think this is a joke? I thought Best Friends...I thought lovers never kept secrets from each other. I told you my deepest secret, and this is how you repay me?" I wipe tears off my face.

"Your just another one. What, if you didn't have your way, was you gonna rape me?" He didn't answer.

"I'm done. Have a nice life in prison. I'll spend the rest of my days exploring the world by myself." I finally turned around and walked away.

"Leilani! Please I'm sorry!" Odell sobbed. I tried to hold in my tears but I couldn't.

I walked outside and started balling my eyes out. I couldn't believe this was happening to me. I felt my throat closing up as I tried to gasp for air.

I started coughing up blood and my eyes were starting to shut slowly. "Somebody help her! Call the ambulance!" I heard someone yell. I tried to open my eyes but I couldn't.

I just blacked out.
