Day 7: The Runaway Pt.2

Leilani's Diary Entry: Finally. Odell finally knows. Yes, it was hard to tell him, but I was strong. Odell also asked me to go to Paris with him. I'm glad, I need the break. I was stressing too much. Also, after Odell left...I started to cough up blood. It'd never happened before so I panicked, a little. But, I was ok. I just couldn't wait until I got to Paris. Paris...with my best friend, that's amazing.

December 7,2015

"We need to run some errands before our flight tonight." Odell said as we walked out the hotel.

"Cool, because I need to sneak back in the hospital to get my medicine." I tell him. He nodded his head. "But first, we need to go and get you some more clothes."

"What? Wait are you not impressed by the clothes I've been wearing..?" I ask him and he smirks. "It's not that, it's just that, don't you get tired of wearing the same clothes..? I mean, switch stuff up for a change." Odell says. I look at him and roll my eyes.

"And what do you know about style?" I ask him. He jerks his neck towards me,"Girl, I know everything about style." I giggle at him.

We walk into the mall and he immediately pulls me into Victoria Secret. "Really, Victoria Secret?" I say.

"Victoria have a Secret and she wants you to show me." He says smirking as he picks up a red lingerie outfit. I snatched it out his hand.

"Too soon?" He says and I nodded my head and laugh. While I was there I picked up some Yoga pants, and some more undergarments. I checked out and we left. We went to a couple of more stores until we went to Odell's house.

"Nice house O." I say as I walked into his house. "Thanks, I saved up money for years just to buy a house." He says.

I put my bags down and sat down on the couch. "What other errands we have to run..?" I asked. He sat down beside me.

"Well, we still gotta get your medicine,right?" He asked. I nodded my head. "But can we make one more stop?" I asked him.

"Sure? Where?"

We walked up to the house I grew up in. Man, so many memories. "Who house is this?" Odell asked. I looked at him before looking back at the house. "My house."

I walked up to the door with Odell and knocked on it.

"Leilani?" My sister Kayla opened the door. Hey eyes grew wide as she saw me and Odell. "Hey Kay." I smiled.

"Mom!" Kayla yells. I tried to step in the house but Kayla wouldn't let me through.

"Leilani, you shouldn't be here." Kayla says to me, I looked at her confused.

"What are you yelling my name-" My mom stops and looks at me. "Hey ma." I say trying to hug her but she steps back.

"Leilani, what are we doing here?" She asked me,"What now I can't say hi to my family?" I asked her. "Leilani, you're supposed to be at the hospital, what are you doing out?" She asked.

"I didn't want to stay in that shitty ass hospital, for the rest of my days. I wanted to live the life I never had." I say to her. My mom shook her head.

"So, instead of letting the hospital, save you're life, you went to go running around with this boy?" She asked pointing to Odell.

"Save my life? Are you serious? You and me both heard what the doctors said. 'Nothing else they could do.' Don't you understand?"

"Leilani, you need to go. Go and get help, the doctors can save you." I shook my head. What part of 'nothing else they could do' did she not understand.

"Mom! Just stop! Just accept the fact that I have cancer! Nothing's gonna change! I'm tired of you keep saying to go and get help. What help?! The doctors CAN'T and WON'T help me!" I yell at her.

"Let's go Odell." I say grabbing his hand. "Leilani I wouldn't do that if I were you."

"And why not?" I say still walking down the steps. "Katherine! She's here!" I heard my mom yell.

I turn my head to see my nurse Mrs. Kat and about 5 security guards from the hospital.

"Nice to see you again Leilani." Mrs. Kat say walking towards me. I stepped back. "What's going on?" Odell whispered to me.

"I don't know, but whatever it is, just follow my lead. I'm good at this." I stood there with Odell by my side.

Mrs. Kat and the guards came closer to us. "Leilani, you have to come with us."

"Why?"

"Because Leilani, your dying. Wouldn't you rather die in the hospital bed than die on the street?"

I looked at Odell,"If that means that I'll be in his arms, then I'll rather die on the streets." I say. Odell looked at me. "Aw. Nice love story, sorry it has to end...get her." Mrs. Kat demands the guards.

"And this is the part where you follow me." I say as I take off running. "Wait up!" Odell say running behind me.

Odell catches up to me and we kept running without looking back. About 3 blocks away we stopped to catch our breath.

"Did you think we got away?" Odell asked me. I looked back at the direction we ran from and nodded my head. We started to walk. "So, did you really mean it?" Odell asked me. I smiled at nodded my head.

"Hell yea. I'll take you're arms over any bed, any day."

He stopped and looked at me. He grabbed my waist and pulled me close. He looked straight into my eyes and said, "Man I've waited a while to do this." Kissing me, I wrapped my arms around his neck. As we let go he bites his lip and laugh.

"There she go!" I heard some guards yell.

"Think we should run now." Odell says. "Yea, let's go." I tell him as we started running again.
